Newmarket - Saturday

great call Stan:cool::cool::cool:

Kate slightly unlucky at the start.
And reportedly finished with a shoe torn off - believed to have happened at the start - and may have been in pain during hte race. If so, it was a very brave performance.

I'm on Bronze Angel at big prices for the Cambridgeshire. I had a mega rant on here when he didn't get in the Golden Mile because of the way 3yos are conspired against in big handicaps and I took 33s when odds were released for the race before pricewise somewhat ruined the price by selecting him a couple of weeks back. The way he finished in the Britannia from a bad draw having tracked to the far side suggests he's way ahead of the handicapper.

Top work.

Thanks EC. To be honest I had a bad period at the start of the season that coincided with trying to quit smoking. Not a good idea.

sn't Siyouma another case of overpriced French runner? Easy to forgive her run LTO and I can't see her out of the frame myself. Is a lot closer to these on lateral form lines and 9/1 looks very big.

One of my main angles but I was so one eyed today I didn't even look at the race. Top work.

BTW I could have cried when I got back from the course today. Losing a few bob on the Cambridgeshire is one thing, but my main interest today was in taking advantage of another unexpected chance to photograph Frankel in full flight. I had the perfect position down at the 8 pole and have been on tenterhooks all week in anticipation of seeing Sir Henry's mighty colt again. I set the camera to aperture priority and fired a few test shots off before he appeared. Then just as he kicked off and I took my pictures a cloud must have slipped over the sun and my camera metering system automatically dropped the shutter speed from a nice 1/320th to an unsatisfactory 1/180th of a second. I was completely oblivious as I was intent on framing him up. It wasn't until I got home to process the pictures that I realized I'd screwed the whole thing up. What a spanner! :o

This is the best of a poor bunch of pictures. Beautifully framed but not even remotely sharp. I am truly gutted! :(

do you use photoshop?...if not i'll have a go at the ones that are underexposed

thats a lovely shot

sorry..you mean they are blurred..got ya

Yes EC1. They are okay at up to about A4 size, but just not truly sharp on his legs. It's my own fault. I got distracted in talking to a couple of other enthusiasts that were down there to see him and basically fecked it up. :(

I wouldn't mind but he was that close to me as they walked down I could literally have reached out and touched him.

On a positive note Yarmy stopped to have word just prior to him coming down the course and he has offered to get a few of my favourite shots of the horse signed by Sir Henry and Tom Q. So something of a consolation prize. :)

As you can see. If they'd been proper sharp they'd have been nice pictures.
