Good Morning;
Two lays beat yesterday, a nice place as well to boot. This recorded a cool 3.5pts profit on the day after the disappointment of Collateral Damage.
Today's racing brings another solid lay to my mind.
Pampas Cat (2.45)couldn't have been more impressive on debut at Newmarket over 10f at the Craven meeting and the way he pulled clear of subsequent winners Daraahem and Checklow certainly caught the eye. However Seeking the Golds do seem to have outstanding records fresh and given the sp of 20/1 its fair to say this horse probably hadn't shown alot on the Newmarket gallops. Chester is not the sort of course for inexperienced horses and this horse also has to prove his worth against worthy group opposition. Doctor Fremantle and Feared In Flight set a high standard and whilst the Gosden yard have a good form line through both with Bronze Cannon and Centennial, I just feel this horse is too short at 100/30 and I have noticed on many occasions horses that run well or win on debut at big prices rarely follow up next time and make good lays. Ravens Pass is of course an exception to this ruling but on whole its a good stat to follow.
I will be laying him for 2pts.
I couldn't find a 5pt banker lay today but I have stumbled upon another 1pt win and 3pt place bet at juicy odds.
Grand Vizier of Christian Walls runs in the 7.10 at Great Leighs and he is a tasty 8/1. The 4yo Desert Style gelding is an all weather performer through and through and his half brother Came Back has won quite a few all weather contests already this season. Grand Vizier is 2 from 2 on the all weather and the talented 5lb claimer Jack Mitchell rides today. he won off 73 last July and whilst he is now rated 76 on the all weather, Mitchell's claim means he runs off 71. Christian Wall's horses are in fine form at present and its getting noticed that horses who handle Wolverhampton are going best here. This bodes well for this 2 time Wolverhampton winner and the 8f here instead of the 8.5 at Wolves looks ideal. The yards horses always improve for their 4yo season and I fancy this one to cause an upset this evening.
Back to Chester my banker bet today comes in the shape of MULTIDIMENSIONAL (2.15) and he wasn't 100% ready when 4th to Phoenix Tower last time at Newmarket over 9f. This extra furlong will suit and he gives every impressin he will stay the longer trip today. The yard is in good form and the faster surface will really suit. His work at home has been impressive of late and he rates a confident selection here with a fitness edge on course specialist Maraahel.
Todays Bets
2pts Lay Pampas Cat @ 4.5
1pt Win & 3pts Place Grand Vizier @ 9.4 & 2.4
10pts Win Multidimensional @ 2.72
Good Luck
