Mixed feelings watching the race. I'd have really wanted the Tiger to win had he been owned by anyone else but fair play to the owner and stable for winning and taking second place with two triers and not just allowing Tiger his glory exit.

Hopefully that's him carried out on his shield.

I've never warmed to him 'cos of connections which I realise is extremely unfair, but I was cheering him home down the home straight and was actually gutted that he lost. Very, very unfair reaction from the crowd. Morons. Thousands of them by the volume of boos.

I honestly didn’t think he’d finish, but I’m definitely sad he was second. What a run though - you forget how small he is !!

The young pretender taking the throne from the old king. I think it was a fitting end to the career of one of the most amazing horses any of us are ever likely to see. He went out on his sword. What a horse. Legend.

Can’t remember who said it in a preview, but the quote was along the lines of “Only Gigginstown could fu*ck it up for Tiger Roll”.

Having heard bits of the podcast RTE radio have done on Tiger Roll I can highly recommend it.
It is in 7 parts ; his is a story of many parts and many players, that the documentary has 7 parts is quite Shakespearean , As You Like It or not !
I remember watching him climbing over the Cheltenham fences in NH Chase with Lisa O'Neill waiting for him to fall only to witness one of many incredible wins.
His Boyne hurdle win would have made many Champion Hurdle aspirants proud.
His Grand National wins were magic; what more is there to say.
enjoy your retirement you amazing little colossus !

I just don’t get why they needed to run DW? They knew he was class. It’s not like they needed to run him. OK if Tiger hadn’t run like that and something else ran, it wouldn’t have mattered. As it was it just felt like an idiotic home goal. Everyone wanted the little guy to win. I reckon they took them back into the winners enclosure together just so they wouldn’t get the boos.

The boo's were totally unnecessary.

He went out in a battle healthy and well.

Everything to celebrate and nothing to be booing about. They shouldn't have disrespected the horse by booing.

They ran Delta Work because as a racehourse he deserved to run in the race in his own right.

At the end of the day if the rain hadn"t arrived Tiger would have probably won and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Full credit to Gigginstown for running him today I say.

Could have easily took him out and then blame the clerk of the course for watering!

I thought the boos were tongue in cheek at Delta Work spoiling the story - certainly didn’t feel they were in any way meant and they certainly weren’t aimed at Tiger Roll.

I said booooo when Delta went past - having said about five minutes previously that I didn’t think Tiger would finish, I was more than happy for him to win just to round the story off nicely!!

So glad it appears that the cross country has sweetened Delta Work up, he’s a lovely horse and there’s potential for him to be another Spot if that’s what he likes now.

Exactly this Trudi, completely tongue in cheek.

Quite poignant that this thread was started by DG.

Tiger Roll won first time out over the weekend......! A Racehorse to Riding Horse class and looked absolutely stunning. Great to see him doing stuff.
