Office Christmas Parties

Got the first one in the Cas next Weds - look out....

(I've already booked Thurday off - get in there!!)

I have a few coming up and I'm really looking forward to them, especially those with a ceilidh for at least part of it.

I've been to several of the big hotel party nights in town and I've always found them great fun. The women really push the boat out and look fabulous and I'd be telling a lie if I said I hadn't been tempted several times...

Ah, those were the days. Temptation, submission, regret,............................... and then back to the party.

I have never been to a work's night out or party.

I would laugh at that but I'd spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder......

....good luck Dan!!!!

Ours is in a mystery location next Thursday.

It is supposedly a "black tie" event, so it better be worth the £54 I've had to shell out at Moss-Bros to hire all the poncy gear.

I start work at 8am the next day. :brows:

The women who fell victim to your charms perhaps have the regrets ?
Nor did I say anything about submitting to temptation.

I'm a married man, after all <_<

Do the Social Security not invite you to there`s, Tom?
No Dan, but when I signed off they offered me a going away party. There seemed to be a lot more enthusiasm for my leaving than for my being there.

PS The lady who signed me off won a holiday.

I've had to sit down, I've come over all faint and light-headed. Very slowly and carefully, HT - just run it by me to see if I've understood you right - y-you're not saying you're (gulp!) off the Do - benefits, are you? I don't think I can bear it if you are. None of us will have anyone left to feel superior to, or to patronize about the nobility of paid employment. Say, say, say it isn't so! :o

Oh - you mean you ARE still on benefits, then? I hope so - I just can't cope with any sudden changes right now...

We had ours on Friday. Our boss hired a beautiful cruise boat (that he parts own), and we cruised around Sydney Harbour from 11:30am to 5pm. The weather was fantastic, around 32 degrees celcius, and not a cloud in the sky. We moored over at the Heads, had a sit down lunch of cold meats (including ham, beef and turkey) and various salads. Whilst in the process looking at the backdrop of possibly the best city in the world, Sydney, and her world renowned icons, Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Centrepoint Tower and the CBD.

There was music playing, dancing happening, a lot of champagne, and just plain old Aussie fun. We also played golf off the top deck hitting the balls into the Harbour and played laser clay target shooting.

We continued the party at Sydney's best pub, on Darling Harbour, the Cargo Bar.

Well, I may be sober by tomorrow morning when I'm next due in.....

Many thanks in particular go to the ball on the roulette wheel which resolutely refused to go near any of my numbers after an initial lucky run when I doubled my chips; and special mention goes to the colleague who persuaded me to do sambuca shots with him before slagging off the boss. On agreeing with him I was met with frosty glares from my two other colleagues (the two I work directly with daily) - ah, work will be such a pleasure tomorrow. Oops...... :shy:

The company I worked for for eighteen years never gave us a thing at Christmas or ever come to that whereas the company I joined in April have their annual dinner next Thursday. We get two free tickets to the dinner, everyone is entered into a draw the prizes for which are a week's extra holiday next year fully paid, a weekend in Madrid or Barcelona, a £100 voucher to Rick Stein's restaurant in Padstow, £50 of Somerfield vouchers, a Marks and Spencer hamper and a DVD with hard disk. The booby prize is a set of corporate clothing.

The event which is attended by over 200 people has a bit of a reputation which I used to laugh about in previous years. There have been fights, drunkeness and various sexual misdemeanours in other years so we all get Friday off fully paid as they don't want 200 pissheads on their premises next day,

If I don't appear next weekend send out a search party, and in case I don't ..Happy Christmas everybloody.

Our shift do is a day out at Haydock on Saturday. Seeing as there are only 4 of us left and we all enjoy the races, it goes down well. Train to the course, day betting and drinking, train back into town. The other 3 can then disappear as and when they have had enough, and I'll just soldier on till I drop... :D
