Office Christmas Parties

To be fair, the food was pretty damn good.

There were some good prizes in the raffle - two lots of return flights to the UK, i-pod nano, MP3 player, a hand held pc & loads more, including what must have been the booby prizes - signed Man U shirts. I won a prize & when picking the ticket out of the hat to determine which prize I got I could've done better - got a bottle of Grand Marnier with 2 glasses. It could have been worse though - could've been a Man U shirt!!!! As usual, one bloke in particular (there's always 1 - out of the 300 odd people who were there!!) scooped 3 prizes - two of which were the star prizes!

Your firm sound like they've got the Christmas do sorted Roger - day off work the next day, 2 free tickets (partners were £20/hd at ours) - sorted! Raffle prizes sound good too - the only free raffle we were all in was for the hand held PC, the rest were £1 a ticket although the chairman gave a free ticket to all the ladies that worked in the company when we got there!

The Bishopswood Bloodstock/Ashbrittle Stud combined Stud Do will be held at a local hostelry next Friday, attended by your own Lady Jon, who is kind enough to grace us with her presents - sorry, presence.. at this august event.

There will be some 22 forward, to include our mutual farrier and foal consignors, our stud staff and their partners plus the trainer of The Horse of the Year and his wife.

We sorted the menu out at lunchtime with the chef, worked out the seating attangements and we're now looking forward to party on down (but probably not the bill.....!) B)

All thanks to the real SONGSHEET, RUNS IN THE FAMILY and CALYPSO LADY who will making do that evening with Baileys No 7, Mole Valley Conditioning Mix and a few carrots.......

They wanted to charge us 30 quid for an evening at the comedy club. Nobody paid so the school fragmented into departments for various nights out.

Our chambers do is at a classyish Spanish tapas bar tomorrow very grown up and restrained - very different from the parties at the big firm of solicitors I trained at !

Tapas Shapas.

We had our Hurling Christmas party as a sort of bar crawl type thing (very limited bar crawl), Yates's for the three course meal and £1 Secret Santa, complete with crackers, wine, cameras, a good sing a long or ten etc, folowed by Lloyds for more alcohol and ending up in Flares. Not a bad night all in all.

Then I came back for my flat's Christmas Party and we played American 21's for a while before strolling to the Chicken bar for garlic bread supreme.

All in all a good night :)

I don't think it is just age - that night out sounds terrible to me - look it is not just age !! I have never liked Lloyds

Mine is tonight.

280 people - free food/drink etc all evening

I may not be back for a while so may I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas for 2005, 2006 & 2007.

May I add that I don't like Flares either . In the old days Alan Morgan would have made a joke about that by now :D

I'm with Ardross. I have been to three Christmas parties so far this year and the most civilised was by far the most enjoyable. It is age though.

The event which is attended by over 200 people has a bit of a reputation which I used to laugh about in previous years. There have been fights, drunkeness and various sexual misdemeanours in other years so we all get Friday off fully paid as they don't want 200 pissheads on their premises next day,

.
Reputation confirmed. At the latest count we have two suspended and two who have mysteriously not returned since Christmas.

One punched a plate glass window and sustained two cut arteries and a severed tendon, lost three pints of blood and is now suspended. His mate verbally abused the police when they arrived and he is also suspended.

Two people who were seen getting rather affectionate out of sight of their partners have not been seen since that night.

I ended up staying out drinking till 3 in the morning - hadn't done that for years
