Official Riding Arrangements?

Could some kind soul please clarify what the official riding arrangements are with the big jockeys/stables/owners?

For example, am I right in thinking that JJ Slevin's contract entitles him to first dibs of the double-greens both at WPM's and in the UK?

Does Mark Walsh have first dibs on the JP horses at Mullins's too?

Does JJ O'Neill have first dibs on JP's UK-trained runners? Is it Richie McLernon?

Any help appreciated.

Richie McLernon rides nearly all of JP's horses trained by Ben Haslam. He won on Petit Tonnerre at Doncaster on Cheltenham Trials day where Jonjo jnr rode Jagwar and Iroko which looks to confirm him as JP's second jockey. He's very much in the veteran class now.

Mark Walsh always rides Majborough for JP. Limerick Lace (MW) and I Am Maximus (PT) were 7/1 jfs in last year's Grand National so he may have picked the wrong one there.

I don’t think JJ Slevin would have automatic first choice on double green runners from Closutton.

I think it’s reaching a point where Mark Walsh has the choice to ride any of JP’s Closutton runners.

And I’d expect increasingly to see Walsh on some of JP’s UK runners if not already ridden by a senior jockey.

These are guesses on my part.

What's the story with Blackmore and the HDB horses? I notice there's a couple of races where he has runners and she isn't on them.

There have always been some owners that prefer O'Keeffe - he has always ridden Gorgeous Tom and it seems he has won a few others over whilst RB was injured. Notable that Willie has put RB on his second most fancied horse in the Albert Bartlett whilst DOK retains the ride on The Big Westerner . I bet Cheveley Park wish Rachael had stayed on Quilixios yesterday rather than staying loyal to Captain Guinness . DOK seemed to get the horse in a right mess approaching the last .

A further point re riding arrangements for Mullins horses in bumpers in Ireland. Patrick has first pick, and number two is Jody Townend.

This arrangement seems to apply also to bumpers in Britain, even though professional jockeys are eligible to ride.

A further point to note is that Patrick would not have been able to do the weight on Bambino Fever. His minimum weight is a couple of pounds above what she carried last Wednesday.

Mark Walsh has first choice on all Irish trained JP horses I seem to remember reading
