Older Horses 2008

Not worked out fully Gal they're probably sitting in their lawyers offices wondering if he's a shoe in for the World Cup would it be wise to retire and sell.

SAKHEE'S SECRET could be in line for an ambitious global campaign in 2008 as Hughie Morrison maps out targets in the US, Hong Kong and Australia for the July Cup winner.

The East Ilsley trainer welcomed Sakhee's Secret back last week and is delighted with the way the colt has wintered at the Redenham Stud.

Morrison is eyeing the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita as a long-term target, encouraged by the race being run this year on an all-weather track for the first time.

In addition, there is also the inaugural Turf Sprint to consider.
“Depending on how we get on with his early programme in England we'll look at everything this year,” said Morrison. “The race in the Global Challenge next month comes too soon, but in contrast to the limited opportunities for him at home there are plenty overseas, including the Breeders' Cup, the Hong Kong Sprint and a race in Australia.”

Considering targets nearer to hand, Morrison added: “There's not much in the lead-up to Ascot which means he'll probably kick off in the Abernant or the Temple. It means we may have to run him over five furlongs because of the type of races on offer.”

Another crack at the July Cup, in which he beat Dutch Art half a length under Steve Drowne, is on the agenda.
