Why on earth were Jedward among the torch bearers in Dublin? Surely another sporting figure should have been used.

You're right, especially when you consider everything else they'll be needed for. They should be training in Poland for the football, then they have to assist Mr Kenny at his next meeting with the IMF, but not before saying mass in Croke Park for the eucharistic congress.
