One to watch

Didn't she win a nice race at Kempton during the NH season? I remember being very impressed with the ride on the day. The best compliment I can pay her is that I had no idea she was either female or conditional, just rode like a top jockey.

Yes on Fingerontheswitch. Likewise I thought it was a tremendous ride easily winning what had looked a competitive handicap

I didn’t see the bumper yesterday at Chepstow but from what I gather James Bowen’s right rein snapped with a whole circuit to go but he still managed to win on the horse despite it trying to veer through a wing at one stage

It was remarkable stuff.

Amazing ride as it went virtually as they started, and he rode a finish on it as well!

They team up tomorrow in the big hcap chase.

I missed the 20/1 yesterday after the final decs were made and decided to hold. I might have to settle for about 12/1 but I just hope the money dries up and the bookies offer a couple of extra points in the morning.

I know you’re all busy dissecting Cheltenham form, but I thought I would flag up my latest “one to watch”

Freddie Gingell. I know a couple of you may have spotted him riding when he won a Hunter Chase recently. Grandson of Colin Tizzard, Freddie was a brilliant Pony Racing jockey and has really hit the ground running in his first season Pointing. He rode a double today and I understand he will be riding as a conditional next season, not for his grandfather, but for Paul Nicholls.

Freddie Gingell rides at Wincanton today in an Amateur hurdle (2.10) against Olive Nicholls (Paul’s next daughter). They have clashed a few times Pointing this season - Guy Landaus daughter Molly is also riding. I will probably take James King though to beat the lot of them as he’s got far more experience and is a good pilot!

Molly Landau just pips James King. Fair play to her!

Just her third ride under Rules and she has only had seven Pointing with no wins so far (not provided with horse power that Nicholls and Tizzard have equipped their offspring/grandson) with so thoroughly commendable performance.

Haven’t added to this for a while. Another name who’s just popping up in the Pointing world having been a very good Pony Racing rider is Tim Vaughan’s 16yo son, Ed who rode his first winner last Sunday at Great Threthew (Cornwall) and promptly booted home another two to give himself a treble on the day. Sure his dad is providing some ammo for him but he’s looking like a future star already especially as two were making their Pointing debuts one having previously been placed in France and the other an ex Irish bumper winner.

Jeriko Du Reponet - very, very impressive. If haven't seen the race worth watching for Nico doing his Jamie Spencer impression, never mind the horse.

Caollin Quinn used to ride my muppet on the gallops when at Warren's. A totally likeable young man. Very patient and kind with elderly owner and genuinely loved Brodie. Could see the reason for the move as Warren short on ammunition for him, but he was worried. Caollin that is, about it. (We communicate regularly). So glad it has worked out for him to date. Obviously not good with injuries to Jamie and Josh but he's taking his chances. Niall also done really well with the Moores.

Harry Swan rode an absolute peach of a race in Leopardstown Bumper today from the front.
Patrick's mount was a little too keen, he had a tug on him all the way through the race.
Art wondered if Patrick might let his mount run on, I figure Patrick is a control freak after yesterday's race.
Someone wondered if Patrick and Bryony are still an item; she better not come up his inside without his permission , 2024 a leap year or not!
