Anyone recommend a pleasant and good value restaurant, preferably in the area around Les Invalides?

Just the place - Brasserie Lipp, 151 Boulevard Saint-Germain. As you'd expect, traditional French brasserie style cuisine. It's been there since 1880 and is housed in the French equivalent of a listed building. It is popular with artistic, literary, political and media people and, most importantly, with the general public. Good value for money and advisable to book - on 01-45-48-72-93.
