I just thought i'd post about this as it seems to be getting a bit out of hand...most of you are maybe wise to this..but if not

My wife parked in a retail park for 2.5 hours and received a "bill" for doing so. The company involved is notorious on the internet..see this forum

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4208067

The letter i received from HIGHVIEW PARKING claims they have sent two other previous "bills" ..they haven't done that.

the amount "owed" is £115.....an amount that they cannot recover legally ...the only way they get that is if i'm daft enough to send it.

A colleague of mine fell for this and sent the scamming b@stards 60 quid..i told her not to fall for it but some people just pay up.

These people cannot charge anyone anything any more than i can charge someone for parking outside my house.

Friend of mine received such a demand so sent a shed load of unstamped envelopes back with a sheet of paper to appear like a cheque.

Hope the numpties had to pay the postage due to open said envelopes.

I went through this around 2 years ago. I think after the 8th letter they gave up.

from what i've read it varies, some just get a couple...the worst thing anyone can do is either pay it or contact them

these people are just scum imo..

the government are a disgrace allowing this sort of intimidation..allowing people to have your reg details for £2.50 just has to be wrong..only the police should have that right....but whilst the DVLA keep taking the money in they are happy.
