I see someone has started a thread about this subject elsewhere, but it seems an odd coincidence that so many of the fancied horses he rides suddenly become impossible to steer in the closing stages. Gurtacrue was a good example on Monday and Timesawastin just now looked an identikit case. Anyone else noticed this?

Yes. I was hoping it was just some coincidence, maybe he has an injured arm or something? I like to look on the bright side .... but .....

Not necessarily dodgy from a laying perspective - both the horses mentioned were reasonably strong in the market (Gurtacrue certainly stronger than the winner, for example), but certainly worrying if you fancied one that Moloney was on board.

Does it imply that he's becoming tired in the finish and unable to keep his horses going true? It sounds like he's a bit knackered at the end of his races, and unable to steer, rather than that they are unsteerable!
