This is a truly excellent show !
I am a huge fan. Seen the full first two episodes and looking forward to tonight's visit to Cheltenham, and the confrontation with the infamous illegal gambling king Billy Kimber.
Yes, it is a bit violent, but that was the trademark of the Birmingham Peaky Blinders back in the 1920's
The show is very period; must have cost a fortune in production costs. All about the criminals and illegal bookies in Brum. Cillian Murphy is very good in the lead role as Shelby.
As a Brummie I'm loving it. Fond memories or going 'up the cut' and taking bet money to the illegal bookies [not quite in 1919 though]. Cillian Murphy was on Radio6 at the weekend talking music.
Cannot blame ya, there!
The run of episodes to last night were reasonable -- the Communist movement, IRA gunrunners, illegal bookmakers etc etc.
Then last night .................. an ending more in substance and style of your typical Soap episode.
Very poor, really. Disappointing.
