I would say it's imagine the low point for any parent of a young lady would be discovering that, not only had their daughter chosen "stripper" as a career but, to add insult to injury, she was part of a group of colleagues described as: "Good girls for this time of the year."
However, I digress.
I remember a time when the Jumps season meant a succession of big Saturday Handicaps from late autumn to March, followed by an excellent Cheltenham Festival which everyone enjoyed, but none regarded as the be all and end all.
The only ante-post markets until January were the Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle and Triumph Hurdle, at which point the Coral Cup joined them.
Quite how it has morphed into this obsessive myopic ante-post Fest to the exclusion of the entire interim season escapes, bewilders and appalls me in equal measure.
