The reason is only Col can delete topics in Mods Only and he doesn't have time to ! There are only about five liveish topics.

I AM going bonkers, there's no doubt about it. I just didn't see it because the 'nymous' is missing. We mostly just hang out in there, dissing everyone, grumbling about the weather, the lack of intelligent programmes on tv, what we ate the night before, and betting on who we think we'll have to ban next.

Keep me on Mod Control for as long as you like, there is a lady in Burma who has been under a form of Mod Control for years and she is still alive and kicking, so the small matter of being censored by an intellectual pigmy is of no conscequence to me.

On or off, makes no difference , i still post, you still have to sort them out.

Yes, Derek - that's what makes you so tiresome to deal with. I lobbied during the last few days to take you off Mod Control, in fact. The reason wasn't altruistic. The prospect of five people - two of them in your own senior age range - having to continue to vet your posts for the foreseeable future was disappointing and depressing. I said I would far rather we took you off control and treated you like an adult, but that when you again contravened the site's rules you could be permanently banned. It'd then take up a lot less time in the Moderators' Section - but it would be much more pleasant if we could trust you without the need for nannying.

So control isn't working, is it? I am going to say this only once (more)... I am NOT prepared to continue monitoring someone who is never going to be safe off control. If he wants to play the onsite psycho, he should be allowed off his leash to make the prat of himself that he is, then finished off forever. Then we won't be spending more bloody hours like this, fretting and fuming over him. He'll be gone, and we can concentrate on the newest troll instead. What is it that's so hard to do - this isn't a war to be won, it's just a fly to be flicked off our noses.

And for what it's worth (5p) he's wandering around the forum after me like that very fly, now. Let's say goodbye and be done with the twerp.

Probably very rude of me, actually, Pee, but I really can't see the point in 'controlling' Derek when he's having great sport in deliberately putting up unpleasantries. My patience is fairly good, but it can be tried. I've reached the end of my interest in moderating him, although God knows - and so do the other Mods - that I've asked for him to be given plenty of rope. He merely disappoints the trust placed in him eventually.

Derek, it's nothing to do with you and I having had a minor spat in the distant past, because I've had enough minor spats with other people, including friends on here, and I consider them all history. Your aim is to disrupt the forum and allow your personal dislikes to taint your postings far too often. As far as I'm concerned, you should be let off the leash and allowed to self-destruct as you most surely will!

And don't come the Wounded Soldier with me, either - after your 'intellectual pigmy' remark and the dozens which have been culled prior to letting your more benign posts through, you're in no pozzie to be heard.

I think I've got Forum Fatigue, Brian, after a couple of hours last night and today arsing about with dead wood, ideas, and the debating society on Derek... do I still qualify for a forum pension if I'm retired early because of increasing oversightfulness?
