You had a really good post on here about how many lbs a horse should "improve" from 2yo to 3yo to have been said to have trained on. This forum makes it pretty impossible to search for specific posts. Could you tell me roughly what your gauge is?

That's going back a bit, Slim.

I stopped studying juveniles seriously at least 10 years ago and wouldn't be able to recall attaching a figure to it. If I were to go back to the idea I'd allow myself to be guided by the WFA scale and make adjustments from there based on reading of the form.

Could you be confusing the post with one I may have made about juvenile hurdlers going into their second season?

If anything suddenly comes back to me I'll put it up.

To be honest, right now I'm kind of afraid to start looking at any form in case it sets my eyesight back. I know I'll have to start looking at some point but have decided if it causes me trouble I'll need to give up studying completely.

Maybe you just alluded to the the WFA scale but it was a post in relation to what rating a horse could be expected to run too at 3 based on it's 2yo rating.

Hopefully it will come back to me once I start getting back into the form.

Meantime I've managed to get a short-notice appointment at the eye hospital as they seem to think it will be worthwhile having another look at my eyes.

A big month of racing ahead so you should do everything you can to be involved. Will pass the days nicely.

Bit of a setback today.

I got an emergency appointment at the hospital that operated on my eye and was told the back of my eye had swollen again causing my blurred vision. The gave me some drops (part of the op on 5 March was a steroid implant to combat the swelling and was supposed to be effective 'for months') to tide me over until the specialist can see me again in 4-6 weeks' time so I won't be able to get wired properly into the form until then at the earliest.

Right now my mood fvck it all.
