Interesting poser from Simon Rowlands of Timeform on Twitter

If there were to be a horseracing Question Time, who should be on it, and who should play the part of Dimbleby?

John Francome or Mark Chapman would be my choice to Chair it

Culture Secretary John Whittingdale would be a must

I would invite Brian May to represent animal welfare.

Paul Nichols would be a great addition to any racing panel he is very intelligent with a vast knowledge of the game.

Paul Struthers definitely I think he's a straight shooter who says what he thinks when he can

Clare Balding to chair. John Gosden, Jim Bolger, Barney Curley, Ted Walsh, Greg Wood, Criquette Head and Paul Struthers to be on the panel.

Meanwhile over on Zoo TV you'd have Barney Curley and Luke Harvey sharing a sofa, Winstanley on his couch, Big Mac in a bubble bath and Paul Carberry astride a mechanical bull.

PS: Nick Rust would need to there too. This year on the first panel, next year on the second one if things don't go well in the meantime.

They could ask Mark Chapman if he regrets shooting John Lennon.

Are you just constantly pissed these days?

Is that it Digger? Your wonderful contribution to this thread...Gawd what would we do without posters like you:rolleyes:

Anyone with half a brain would realise I meant Matt Chapman and that post was tongue in cheek but it seems you are somewhat lacking in that department.

Let me repeat the question put up for you "If there were to be a horseracing Question Time, who should be on it, and who should play the part of Dimbleby?"

Now the idea is for you to say "I think XXXX would be great" It's not to come on and just say "I think your selection is shyte" Got it?

Nah - I think your selection is Shyte.

Lydia would be chairperson. Intelligent, articulate, and not afraid to put people in their place.
Rust on the side of the authorities - and his back ground in bookmaking would also be useful
Ap McCoy - He's suddenly willing to talk about racing and he hates Lydia.
Ted Walsh - a trainer with an opinion.
Rory Delargy - knowledge and and opinion on everything in racing!
Me - an owner and punters opinion and a bit of eye candy for the ladies.

Ardross are you suggesting my post was sexist, homophobic or both?

My apologies if it has come over that way.

I can assure you that wasn't the reason for the post it's a genuine feeling that Ms. Balding is much too prominent on our television screens, and I find her patronising manner too much to take.

I do think there are too many women commenting on sport on TV these days. Seems to me that positive discrimination has gone much too far.

As for the homophobic side of things........I might have to plead guilty.

im not homophobic at all. It's quite nice watching two ladies going at it . Scissors. Double ended and so on. You have to be there

I agree with the women commentators observation. It's the Gareth crooks syndrome. Claire is a very smart and competent presenter but she can certainly grate

Lydia is first class.

Im not sure who I would choose for all this but although he irks me chapman certainly and Francome without doubt. Paul Nichols of course

barney Curley .....never.

For Question Time Matt Chapman would spend too much time voicing his opinion or arguing with his panel and not giving the panel enough time to have their say, something he's guilty of on ATR's Forum. Big Mac would be a nightmare for this too.

If it were tonight my panel would be Nick Rust, John Gosden, Rich Ricci and Lydia Hislop, chaired by Nick Luck, but next week the panel would be different.

He would get answers and at least his opinions would at least cover up others talking sh1te.
