Racing Post Trophy 2015

Have liked Deauville from day one but he is a bit of a grinder. Not sure myself he'll reverse the form. If we had some rain and it went soft then I may reverse my decision.

Thought I started a thread about this final weekend of flat racing last night?!!!!!

Jesus wept ! You lads are grumpier than I am haha . Had you originally posted some thoughts on the race EC ? Wouldn't have minded reading them myself even though I tend to steer clear of 2yo races myself for punting purposes I still like to keep track of the top races. Don't let a little black cloud put off. In the same manner that your suggesting he should just ignore the threads if he doesn't like them doesn't it stand to reason that you should just ignore Euro's constant negativity ? The Leger was ****, Champions day was **** why should the RP trophy be any different ?

Three verses of " always look on the bright side of life " altogether now...for Euro. :)

oh aye..there are a lot of glass half empties and people who don't when races are run on here Danny..you will need more than 3 verses for Euro..if races don't include at least 3 versions of Frankel then its a sh1t race in his view..if it dont jump twigs its sh1t is another view..and obviously if you criticise anyone back who others know off the board..you get all the drinking buddies coming on and telling you what a knob you are. Clive nailed it on other thread really.

anyway..back to the race..Deauville had a 2 month break when beaten by the fav..looked a nice warm up for this one..100/30 now gainst evens or odds on for the fav

Muharrer aside we saw no Champions last Saturday. The day did not live up to it's billing.

7 declared.

Deauville
Foundation
Johannes Vermeer
Marcel
Mengli Khan
Port Douglas
Tony Curtis

In 30 years of following racing I have never backed a horse because of it's name but I'm in Port Douglas right now...

Hold my hands up, really enjoyed that. I think my cynicism at the start of the thread was part based on a shite season for me (especially with group horses) and the boredom of the same connections winning most of the big races. Had a lot of time for PCH ever since Rodrigo and Dr Devious. Good result.

If an apprentice had ridden such a race as Frankie they'd be in front of the stewards for injudicious riding at the least. I don't think I've ever seen an even money horse ridden like a non-trier in a Gr1 race before. Reports say his path was blocked, but it wasn't. He could have switched left without losing ground between the 2f and furlong pole and made a proper attempt to win the race.
