Subscribe to Racing UK for a number of years now and just wondered what others think of team of presenters and pundits. I like listening to Dave Nevison and Steve Mellish for info and think Tom Stanley, Ollie Bell, David Fitzgerald and Lydia Hislop do a sound job presenting. Angus Macnae and Mark Johnston, however, I can't listen to any more. Their comments are so trite. Would be very interested to hear others' views. Oh, almost forgot. James Willoughby, who thankfully hasn't been on for a while, is totally insane.

Mellish is excellent,Nevison is far from perfect but I think he is very good to sum up a race from a punters perspective.

I have no issues with any of the RUK team, but only watch the jumps so don’t have to watch much of Willougby…. If I had to pick one pundit, it would be Mellish or the old boy who seems to specialize in lower level jumps and UK PTP's (can’t remember his name)

Jonathan Neeson

90% of them need a damn good scrub and tidy.

The fact thats its not HD though is criminal for the cost of it.

I like the unkempt look, the last thing we need is buffed up nobs in suits like they have punditing football.

The HD thing is my only downer also, I watch podcasts on Youtube that are HD and completely free, does seem strange they haven't that capacity.

Neeson is absolutely top class.Lydia has a tendency to talk too much -I find it irritating when she nominates potential targets to trainers-going back a few years her interview with Jamie Steirs when the new whip rules were introduced showed an incredible sense of self importance.

No issues with any of them though some interest me more than others.
I do like the old boys Neeson and Mellish. I like the fact that Neeson will answer no idea if he has no idea. Straight bat and all that.
I like the fact Lydia pesters for targets.

I enjoyed Tom O Ryan and Graham Cunningham's Champions Day preview (what I saw of it )
They are a decent mix all through and to be fair Angus and James Willoughby hop off each other very well. ( as we say in Cork)

I quite like all bar one of the Racing UK presenters especially Neesom, Lydia, Mellish and even like the overly northern duo of O Brien and Mark Howard.

On the other hand Chris Gibson is a guessing twat

Mark Howard seems to be a human racing encyclopedia so must genuinely love the game but is a classic example of information overload since he hasn't got a clue despite knowing more about a horse than the trainer, owner, jockey and horse itself! Neesom I like and I agree with the guy who said that if he doesn't have an opinion, he says so. Met him at Sandown a couple of years ago and seems a decent guy. Have also met Mellish a couple of times at tracks and he too is very approachable with no airs and knows the game well.

What is Mark Howard's health problem? whenever he's on the presenters have to sit! I will someone point out to him that there is no "R" between the "P" and the "E" in performance.....infuriating.
I have found all the presenters approachable on the racecourse......even got some "wisdom" out of Alistair Down!

I think Mark Howard is disabled (to an extent), Colin......saw him at Haydock a few years back, and he was walking with a frame.....whatever is wrong with him, it didn't look trivial.

I'm afraid too many of them have a robotic, monotonous delivery. Sometimes it feels like a button is pressed and an automated flow of verbiage pours out. Mark Howard is typical of this.

The worst of the lot is Andy Richmond who cannot say anything once when six times will do. Sadly Chris Dixon is falling more and more into this category.

I agree with the consensus that Jonathan Neesom is excellent. I also have high regard for Paul Morrison whose knowledge of breeding, paddock eye and form are all pretty decent. Steve Mellish knows his stuff really well, but unfortunately is too verbose.

To be fair to all of them, there are days when RUK may have only one meeting, and there is simply too much time to discuss the wonders of a 0 - 55 at Kempton.

Those 2 buffoons Harvey and Weaver were tipping the fav Jenniechild as they were loading into the stalls.....was a non runner 10 minutes before......utterly useless the pair of them

That's ATR Harry..

As a slightly younger viewer, whilst I respect the views of Neesom and Mellish, they do drone on a bit and hardly light up the day. Bell and Stanley are doing a good job of bringing some enthusiasm and verve to the channel.

Unlike everyone else it seems, I like Willoughby. He's intelligent, sometimes insightful and just a little bit mad; and I like that!
