Racing UK pundits and presenters

Those 2 buffoons Harvey and Weaver were tipping the fav Jenniechild as they were loading into the stalls.....was a non runner 10 minutes before......utterly useless the pair of them

To be fair, I enjoy the Friday night ATR programme. It is what it is - a bit of craic with no pretensions of serious form analysis.

Don't get to see RUK half as much as I used to, but would agree with the consensus view that Neesom and Mellish are good. Lydia (Olivia to Aidan O'Brien) can go on a bit, but I like that her passion for racing comes through.

Would throw in Eddie Freemantle and Richard Hoiles as well; Hoiles is rarely enough on in a presenting/analyst role, but I have always had him down as the shrewdest of the lot. Was not a fan of Cunningham at all, but he is gone now.

Agree with your comment about Richard Hoiles but i quite like Graham Cunningham.

Convinced Weaver and Harvey have partaken of alcohol before the show..........only excuse I can find for all the giggling, amusing - maybe, but not very professional.

James Willoughby argh nooo - warbles on, I know he's probably a Mathematician and worked on derivatives or odds setting for a major bookie, but got completely found him out when he mentioned that there's a theory "the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle" which he explained how it applies to horse racing in all seriousness. It does exist but it's effects are only noticeable on the subatomic scale !

Don't mind most of the others, a useful one is the hefty bald "geezer" pundit (he may be on ATR ?) - would eliminate anything he proposes, invariably his selection comes in down the field, then he never mentions them again in the post analysis.

What does bug me though about RUK is why they can't just put names of jocks/trainers up more than once, after the one time some 10-15 mins before the race (if at all) only the time/place race odds and horse numbers are put up. Sometimes you back them on the spur and its nice to have that info in front of you. One simple thing is I like the way that after the race when they give the price of the winner too immediately - ATR only put it up probably as a caption during the next race, just find that really annoying, ca';'t be that hard to do.
