It is extremely trivial An in the bigger scheme of things, BUT this forum should be a place for free speech, and there is nothing more annoying to find that our personal comments have been edited without the moderator having the decency to explain their actions, or at least to warn that changes would be or have been made. I will get the normal..... "you had been warned" speech no doubt.

Like you say, far more important things to worry about..Krizon's dear Ma, and those thousands of poor people in Pakistan.

I am just off down to Oxfam with a lot of stuff I cleared from the house I am trying to sell. I had been putting off clearing it all until I heard the desperate appeals yesterday. I managed to fill a LWB transit plus a builders skip and there is still more to go. I started it, so now I will have to finish......
(Does anyone know why some old people hoard absolutely everything????)
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd be an excellent moderator.

I wouldn't be attending the weird secret moderator meetings though or learning all the secret handshakes.

Krizon, hope the operation is a complete success and everything works out for both you and your mum.

Col, I don't want to leave, I have told you that on numerous occassions before BUT when I have made a complaint nothing seems to happen. I told you and Songsheet someone was editing my posts and Songsheet told me it wasn't her, which I knew and Brian was on holiday. At least now it is happening to someone else, perhaps people will listen. At the end of the day, I will probably still get banned. Such is life eh?

Phil, I meant, for them to sell to raise money. People keep telling me to have a car boot sale with the amount of junk I have, but I just don't have the time and now it is October, they seem to be few and far between. I meant Oxfam can sell the items and keep the money :shy: . Probably badly worded.
 
It’s a saga now... and its happening to others as well!! Now, I had been on about it for over 18 months now!!!!

On any board as long as its posted within the parameters and does not contravene the rules and is not a personal jibe.. Its not crude swear words either (we have children reading these threads don’t forget?) there is no reason at all to have someone applying their censorship...full stop: :o

Merlin, we're not talking about posts being deleted. Rather, we're talking about messages being altered and then left up on the board. I'm not aware of you ever complaining that this has happened to you but if it did then please PM Col as he requests.
 
Sorry not to have responded earlier but I have been in court in the North East all day .

An capall posted " Radcliffe Fails Test - No Surprise there " . It turned out when you read his posting to be about a horse called Radcliffe .

I added " he is a horse " to the topic title so that nobody else was misled by the posting . A continuation of an capall's character assassination campaign on Paula Radcliffe . I was thoroughly pissed off that my time had been wasted reading such rubbish. A number of forum members have expressed singular annoyance at the continuing potentially libellous innuendo from an capall about her . Apart from deleting or editing personal abuse , or postings that breach forum guidelines from threads I have never otherwise edited a posting as to content.

If col thinks that adding that to the topic title is a hanging offence that is up to him . I have contacted him on getting home tonight

Nice to see the three banned members wittering on as usual . Kathy you do make me laugh - no problems with your moderation except a flagrant breach of the Data Protection Act about Songsheet .

While we're at it, I once said in a thread that I thought Dana was rank but, when I looked in later the post had been altered to make it appear that I had masturbated to said woman and then come in an ankle sock.

Ardross, why the hostility towards me? I never aimed any hostility towards you at all on this thread and if I am one of "the three banned members wittering on as usual", then you are bang out of order.

As for voices in my head - that is just downright insulting and I want you to take that back now.
 
In one of the competitions between our 2 forums, I tipped 5 absolute certainties.
When I looked at the thread in the evening all my selections were losers.

Explain that if you will?

Ted, I cannot hide the truth, that was me. I figured we couldn't rely solely on Tout Seul winning every comp for us, so I tweaked the selections just a bit. But you have to admit that finding five nailed-on losers was quite skilful, eh? :D

To put things on a legal footing,I am sure, that,as a solicitor,you would agree.

I was not banned from this forum.I was a 30 day suspension and i E-mailed Col and explained my situation and resigned.At the time,i was quite angry and since,i have regretted a couple of things that i said to Col.If he reads this then i apologise to him for it.


Since my return,i have been cool about most things,but i still argue my case.

Once i have been accused of personal abuse when it was alleged that i had abused euronymous by adding an e after euronymous(e).This never happened,in fact.the post vanished and even had it happened,i find it impossible to believe that any right minded individual could find it abusive.

Just wanted to clear the air and hopefully,this stuff will stop now.

As my learned friend once said.The subject is closed,lets move on. :)
 
Colin, as you are the facilitator of the Forum can I make the following points to you.

Can you request any moderator who wishes to alter the content of any of my posts to please just delete it completely

Secondly, I am extensively trained in media and commercial law. I have never even nearly libelled anybody on here. I would be careful not to compromise you. If there is conflicting evidence, please gather and post it and I will immediately fully withdraw from the Forum.

After reading Ardross's posting and if people think I am lying that someone was altering my postings then so be it. I threatened to copy all my postings into word to be able to prove what had been changed and when. All went quiet and then shortly after PDJ resigned as a moderator. I am not sure the two incidents were connected - but I wouldn't know as no one told me. I am not a liar and resent the fact that someone is insinuating that I may be. I reported the changes to my postings through the proper channels.

At least An Capall has brought the issue to the fore so that people realise it has happened again.

The last time I asked someone why my post had been edited, Col pointed me to this thread. An, perhaps it goes some way to explain? Probably best I don't post on this subject further. :blink:

I must confess to becoming somewhat bored with this thread.

It's a well known fact that very few people ever change aspects of their character that other people find distasteful, whether that be through sheer laziness or because they find no fault with themselves. Therefore it seems an exceptionally pointless exercise to attempt to make them do so.

Furthermore, when a person has repeatedly indicated, either verbally or through physical action, that they wish to follow a particular course it is again unlikely that they will be persuaded to do so unless compelling new evidence is brought to light which drastically alters their opinion.

So why bother.

It would be much more entertaining for the rest of us if the thread descended into a slanging match, preferably with personal, foul and needless abuse attached. To that end, I am more than happy than to engage in such a bout with anyone who cares to step forward.

Only in the name of entertaining the troops, you understand.
