tuned in on the net as I have a sizeable bet on Magic Mark in the 4.30 at Tralee - just in time to catch the end of an interview with a jockey who was returning to Ireland and was promoting himself, looking for rides etc - he was able to ride both flat and National hunt.

Interviewer: what weight can you do on the flat?
Jockey: 8 stone 7
Interviewer: And over National Hunt??

Good God.
 
Unbelievable . Sorry about the result Garney . I had it in a few combinations . Shame we couldn't see the race . I still don't know why it ran so poorly :rolleyes:
 
Would it not be logical for him to let his weight rise when riding over jumps (less dead weight) and then lose it when riding on the flat?
