Hi all.The RP website ceases to produce the 'old' site as of Monday. The new site is an absolute dog's dinner.I've asked along similar lines before but does anyone have any recommendations regarding sites from which you can copy & paste racecards on to Word documments or any other good site that give good cards etc?The RP site was never great but my subscription gave me what I needed. Now it gives me nothing useful, not even the stable tours database. Apparently I need to upgrade my subscription for that.Any help/advice appreciated.

Weatherbys' site has racecards. Also Sky Sports seem to have cards the same as the old Sporting Life ones.

Could try copying into a spreadsheet if Word doesn't work. If it all ends up in one column a simple macro could work to get it back to the right format.

Dunno if it will be any good for what you're after, DO, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how straightforward and user-friendly the BHA website is - particularly Racecards and Form History.

Might be worth giving that a bash?

GH, I use the BHA site a fair bit for info re going etc and h'caper blogs. Just checked it for printable cards. It's unworkable (for my purposes) as you only get six or seven horses to a page of A4.......Those who know what my Word docs look like will know the kind of 'appearance' and content I want on the stuff I print in order to prepare a race for studying. I'm struggling to get anything that suits.

Benny, the Weatherbys site doesn't do tomorrow's cards and the ones they do are big colour, girly things.

It might be as simple as the pasting format, can you post an example of what you're looking for and I'll check it out.

Yes, the old site is working fine just now, reet, but it's closing permanently on Monday, leaving us with just the new beta site.

Don't know if this will work while the site is experiencing problems, Steve; I normally copy & paste the [old] RP cards on to a Word 2003 Doc. I'll try c&p'ing what I have for tomorrow:NWB 1.30 BE WISER INSURANCE HCAP CHASE (CL3) Winner £12,512 11 runners 3m1f214y Good To Soft ITV4NO. I use irishracing.com and it has everything I need, UK and Ireland. Nice little hover function over the horses name to give you the form too.

DO- if you have trouble downloading cards, download an app called snagit and just grab the screen and copy to word.

The 'At-a-glance' option in the racecards looks very similar to the old RP card and is part of the free content: https://beta.racingpost.com/racecards/32/aintree/2017-04-07/670163/at-a-glance
Yes, it does, archie, but it doesn't copy and paste properly. have a go yourself to see what I mean. The horses, trainers, etc end up listed down the side of the page but the grey boxes for 'C' and 'D' take up a whole line.I've been in touch with the RP about it. Their reply was basically "tuff titty". They said the new site was not designed for people to copy & paste from (which I totally understand)... However, they also said there is demand for that kind of facility so the ARE CONSIDERING making the info avail on something like CSV (?) files but can't guarantee that it will happen.

What a pile of **** this thing is,takes ages to look at previous results and then you have to go to each individual meeting scrolling down endlessly,on top of that can barely read the finishing times of the races reading the forms spread across the page so eyes are wandering back and forth across the screen.Just an absolute joke, completely made for losing punters how the **** you're supposed to do 5/6 cards in the summer when everything takes 10xlonger,will be knocking the turf ion the head as its just impossible to do the form quick enough for what I need to do and atr are just as bad if not worse.I've looked at various sites and its all long winded garbage, all you need are the days results on one page with every meeting not everything splashed with colour can hardly focus on anything...even less winning punters using this site now I need to be able to work 10x faster than this...Even just doing a couple of aw cards will take me 3/4 hours as opposed to just 1-1 1/2...

Gigilo, I suggest you submit your complaint to RP.I've already expressed an opinion to them that the site was clearly not designed or constructed by anyone who knows the first thing about racing or about what form students need. Just about everything I try to do requires at least two or three more clicks into the site. The text and graphics are all too big, requiring scrolling all over the shop... their reply? ... If you don't like it we can talk about ways to cancel your subscription.

Hi DO as BennyB pointed out the SKY SPORTS racing site seems to do everything your looking for. http://www.skysports.com/racing/racecards/fast-race-cards/market-rasen/27-03-2017 you can copy and paste racecards or print them out. You can do the following days racecards as well by clicking on tomorrows cards then clicking on meeting and this gives option to print out cards or you can copy & paste.http://www.skysports.com/racing/racecards/fast-race-cards/hexham/28-03-2017 The site is very very quick compared to RP or SL.

Thanks, Chef... as I said before, the problem with the cards as presented is that you only get six or seven horses to a page.... I'm used to getting three/four races to a page, if there are only eight or nine runners per race, I can get four or five races per page.... A busy Saturday with seven or eight TV/£20k+ races to study would waste a rainforest per week.

Just fired off yet ANOTHER complaint to the RP:I'm getting incandescent with rage at the new site.Does ANYTHING work as it's supposed to?I've spent the last hour trying to study for the Grand National, researching past winners, etc. Try typing the following names in the 'search' section:West TipMon MomeSaphir Du RheuAnd see how long it takes to find them. You'd think at least if you typed in the full name - CORRECTLY - of a horse the worst you could come up with is more than one horse with the same name. Not with the new all-singing-all-dancing Racing Post site! I could not find ANY of the above three horses listed. And it appears the list refreshes itself while you're looking. At first there were two pages of possibles, then when I clicked on page 2 there were 5 pages, then when I clicked on page 3, there were SEVEN pages. I gave up at that point. The whole new site is AWFUL!!!!!!!!PLEASE BIN IT AND RESTORE THE SITE THAT WORKED.

Did you see the message "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our search functionality. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused. In the meantime, please use search on bloodstock.racingpost.com."

Thats the problem these days, they hire bandwagon developers. Being a full stack developer myself I know the industry has seen a rise in script kiddies which ridiculously enough are more preferred in medium-big software companies(like RP probably hired) because nowadays working on web frameworks they are almost robots performing tasks without needing a creative mind and much skills.

Anyways @DO, you can always search those horses on google like this: Saphir Du Rheu inurl:racingpost.com and you'll get straight to their profile on RP.

Only after I wrote to them!

Funny you should say that, Aughex. A few days ago I was complaining to them about another aspect of the site that was shite and in my frustration I wrote a message that included the following: I would not know where to start in terms of criticising it. It was certainly not created by anyone who knows anything about racing. My best guess is that some 19yo technical college undergraduate with failing eyesight has created it.
