Referendums

Referenda tend to have more import than that in Ireland, where they're the only means by which the constitution can be changed.

Having 47 people above him means that AC ist still putting the clothes on other peoples backs and buying their cars and paying for their shags and having to work so that they may take longer and better holidays than him.

Not so FCucking clever in my opinion.

True, but this one only works for the few.

The middle are scared of losing their jobs.

The rest have no work or work and very little pay.

There are others with no work,no money and no prospects.

Remove the out of work but looking and you will find the out of work figures are a lot bigger.

Whats you view on workers in full time employment and having to claim to survive?

That is only true (at least in the part of the country I live in) if you include covering yourself and your entire family in chunky gold jewellery, having cable/satellite television with all channels, smoking 80 fags a day and ensuring that your children have better kit than those who do not claim in addition to their work in a definition of "surviving".

I, on the other hand, do not.

Very similar to your own, I suspect. I used to try to apply them practically when I ran a business too - we had a minimum wage before there was a statutory one and when legislation was introduced ours was above that set by the government.

It wasn't entirely altruistic either. I firmly believe that the happier people are in their jobs the better they work for theur customers and so the company becomes more successful. If you get it right, this leads to a virtuous circle.

simmo.
Off around £156 a week after tax. Based on £200 less tax @ 20% (app)?

A couple of million years ago, the person who was able to wrestle the deer to the ground was given the best dinner.

We seem to have lost our way as to how we value people in society. Some of the best paid people contribute less than nothing, while those who are doing sterling, valuable work, get little or no economic acknowledgement. Skills that are no longer rare or mysterious continue to be well rewarded.

Don't know what it had to do with referendums, just a thought for the day.

Melendez,
sorry.

AC is to blame with his they are all thick except me and i am thick when compared with the other 47 post. :D

As Simmo says it really does depend on how you define "survive". If you mean having shelter, food, clothes and water then I'm pretty sure that most families could survive on their wages without claiming benefits (if they have a job obviously) but if the latest Nike trainers, Burberry jumpers and CK Jeans counts as "surviving" then I'd say a fair few would need to claim.

What's wrong with that? I lived many years of my life on wages at that level or worse. For sure, life wasn't as affluent as it is now, but it certainly wasn't a struggle by any stretch.

Maybe I'm just a man of simple tastes.

I didn't say they were above me, Derek, I said they were smarter than me. 29 of the 47 actually work for me. The other 18 have been notifed to Honest Tom and will be visited soon.

The E. Dead Group have asked me to apologisae on their behalf to the families of the other five individuals who should not have been there at that time.
