Rhoscolyn

“ Rhoscolyn has been declared for the closing World Pool Handicap on Wednesday. Oisin Murphy is booked and he has been drawn four.

It was great to see him back and looking like his old self with how he went through the race when second at Beverley recently. He was probably a bit unfortunate not to get slightly closer there.

He's got a very good record at the track as he was placed in the Golden Mile at this meeting two years ago from a much higher rating. Last year he ran a blinder from a bad draw.

With a bit of luck I'd like to think he'll be right in the mix in this.

It's a big draw-bias track when you get big fields. Invariably you want horses that race in prominent positions because in big fields you find that the hold-up horses are reliant on luck in running and you get a lot of horses who find trouble and can't peg back those who get away on the front end.

Low draws and prominent-racers are the ones to focus on, particularly when it's not extreme ground conditions.” Martin Dixon of Horse Watchers

Has got in the golden mile .33/1 corals/lad is stand out. I wouldnt take less than 25s.
Omeara has 6 in it and all have bad draws.

Just saw that the bastert ran and won today. Only 2/1, though. Could still carry a penalty on Friday. It will only be 3lbs and if he's on the way back it might not matter.

But the 3lb makes it 7lb higher than today.had dropped 4lb since the weights came out. Runs off 94,today 87.

Down to run at chepstow on thursday in the racing league. Runs off 92,class 2,£50,000 to the winner.

absolutely ridiculous from 87 to 94 by the handicapper for winning that crap race at Goodwood.

He was getting 6lbs from a horse who hasn't won a race in 2 years and beat him a length. At levels he would have been beaten 4 lengths.

To justify his crap he put the 2nd who as I say hasn't won for 2 years up 2 lb. Duh!!!

No wonder horses are sent out 3 canters short of a gallop to get their handicap mark down to a realistic mark.

Cheating.....the handicapper in his stupidity is responsible for cheating more than the trainers

True, but it's pretty normal when the front two are five lengths clear with the rest strung out like washing. It was also a very fast time.

I'd maybe be a wee bit more conservative myself, as I tend to be with form on heavy ground.

He had dropped to 87 but was off 91 in the mile (early closing) plus a 3 lb penalty 94.
Due to run off 91.

Dunno why he ran in the mile. Couldn’t have been his chances, the money was down for that the first time.
