Rite of Passage

3/1 looks big with very little of big potential against him. the 2m5 hurdle looks poor this year at this stage.

Was Kiichi beaten at short odds behind Chatham in the Cathcart.Give me enough guesses and I will get it right eventually.

I thought Finian's Rainbow did it nicely at Ascot at the weekend.

Despite the fact that Scriptwriter didn't do much on Saturday for the Haydock form, Peddlers Cross was heavily backed with all the firms today.

Both have a fighting chance of turning over Rite Of Passage and, all in all, it's shaping up into a decent contest.

I wanted to be impressed by Finian's Rainbow but must say I wasn't, especially as Sereth didn't look off a yard. He tends to prop at his hurdles a bit which puts me off his cheltenham chances somewhat.

Tom Segal has gone for Jessica Harringtons Summit Meeting. But more interesting is Dermot Welds apparent comment that Rite of Passage did not like the undulations at Punchestown. Compared to Chelt it would be almost flat.

Not unusual for Weld to run a horse over hurdles when it's clearly a group 1 horse. Maybe that's what Aidan O'Brien should now do!!

I don't back his tips but really like reading his columns, especially in the weekender.

He`s good in the Weekender and in my view a good tipster anyway, especially as he seems guided to always look for a big price/value for money. Biggest downside is whatever he tips reduces by 25% immediately. You need to be with him in the bar the night before.
