Big Zeb has returned unscathed from his summer break, with trainer Colm Murphy eyeing a November comeback for the Queen Mother Champion Chase hero.
The nine-year-old finally fulfilled his undoubted potential with a brilliant display at the Cheltenham Festival, and could return to action in the Fortria Chase at Navan - a race he won in 2009.
"He's not long been back in and is just starting off with some easy work at the moment," said Murphy.
"He's done extremely well during the summer, thankfully, and I'm absolutely delighted with him.
"We'll be in no panic with him this season and he will probably just get the one run before Christmas.
"He'll probably start off in the Fortria Chase, as he did last year, and then we'll probably wait until Christmas with him this time."

I saw him recently in Colms. Looked really well and back to the old plan from two seasons back. Fortria, Dial a bet, Punchestown, Champion Chase.

Forpadydeplasterer has an early season target of the King George. Glad to see them consider stepping him up

"We are certainly going to try him over further, but I wouldn't rule out going back.
"He came back in training on the 12th of July. He had 12 weeks out and he won't run before November.
"He may have one run and then if the owners are anxious to give him a chance over three miles I suppose the ideal place would be Kempton."

Big Zeb

"He's very good, so the plan is to start off in the Fortria, the same as last year, at Navan," said the County Wexford handler.

"We couldn't be happier with him and he's back in since July.

"It will be a similar plan to last year, but I don't think he'll go to Sandown, he'll go to Leopardstown at Christmas."

Has Hamm been in :)

Are you sure that's not a donkey? :p

Only kidding - what is the plan for him this season? Any chance he may come across for the Tingle Creek?

I wasn't sure whether to put this into the Road to the Champion Chase (Captain Cee Bee), the Road to the Ryanair (Psycho) or the Road to the Paddy Power (Catch Me).

But there is a very good looking chase at Naas tomorrow. Archie Boy completes the quartet.

That is a cracker of a race. My first reaction is first time out Pyscho would be the favourite but that is a race I really want to see rather than have a bet.

Big Big fan of the Captain. I really hope he stays sound for the season.

Long long way to go i know, but i'm surprised at the price of 16's about him for the CC to be honest.

As for tomorrow, i'm with you Gearoid definitely a watching brief. If the Captain gets round safe with no more than one ahead of him i'd be pleased.

Good race for Catch Me to be hunted around. They might not want to show the handicapper their hand. Can see him being a big drifter.

Catch Me is a positive in the market. I have got it all wrong but at 6/5 your choice w/o Captain Cee Bee I would still want to be on Psycho.
