Balls, not a good start, I'm not sure Sandiva had much chance with the winner but she's been put in a more handy position in both previous races, I think it was the initial turn of foot from Kiyoshi that did for her.

Jamie Spencer looked cosy though, even though he let her drift across.

Why are people moaning?

Jesus. Does the happiness of life index for some revolve around a racecard?

Its a great weeks racing. So what if one day isn't earth shattering

well said Clivex.:)

I've been moaning about this meeting for year winners-wise, but Shamaal Nibras will do me a favour in the last I reckon. (That might be the Jack Daniels talking though) :)

A winner here is something to saviour and very very precious for any punter....

Sandiva was a joke price with a joke and very past-it jockey on board, who a shrewdie or two on here still love, but my gut of gut instincts always knew he'd get beat :)

I wish I listened to my gut a bit more, but I'd surpass the opesity limit if I did haha. :)

Im having a laugh this week too. Four bets, three winners. Going to aftertime big style here and i dont give a monkeys, but how on earth was Sky Lantern that price?

I thought I might be in for a good day when Heart Focus started her challenge but then Spencer's horse jumped into the race at the 2f pole.

Then De Sousa lost the wrestling match with Tha'ir.

Then Dwyer reminded me of why I see him as a negative. Hopeless jockeyship on Purr Along.

Still, they were all speculative bets because I didn't want to get involved with the favs, two of which were turned over.

Hopeful of something from the next three races. One good winner will cover my day.

I can't believe I didn't back Sky Lantern, It was one of those where I was looking and looking at the bet now button and then just said, nah I'll leave it. If I'd been having a good week I'd have got stuck in but I chickened out. I'm such a loser!!!

Can't believe the lack of talk about Sky Lantern; she put a very good field to the sword today. Must be up to taking on the boys?

Can't see them taking on Toronado.

I feel a bit mucked out because of the punting but I've been at work all week and so have only watched on tape upon returning home. Not helped my mood.

Sky lantern won well, but this was the worst gr 1 I can remember for a long time,
I rate her 119p for today, I would keep her in mares company , especially avoding Morning Cloud.
Flotilla showed similar form in the Poule.

Two Guineas winners. A winner who cruised up in electrifying style and is surely one of the two or three most exciting horses we have seen this year

I'm baffled . How can that be a bad race?

Wrong trainer perhaps?

It was a fuckton better than a lot of Gold Cup's, most St Leger's and a lot of G1 sprints.

The winner is aobviously a good fillie and día well from that draw
Runner up is a listes fillie for me in france rated 108', could have hit no better than 110 yesterday.
I am a little tired now to do the search but just imagine what Russian rythm, banks hill, Gahnati etc would have done to this lot.

As Simon Rowlands points out, they probably went too quick early (first 3 turning in occupied 3 of the last 4 places) and Sky Lantern (imo) is somewhat flattered by the outcome. Just The Judge blew her chances racing for position in he first 2 furlongs, and others closest to the winner seem a modest bunch, at best.
Maybe Hughsie does nderstand a little bit about pace, after all?

Too much made of these pace issues IMO. The winner would have won regardless. It was too comfortable. I wouldn't give a moments consideration to backing one of the beaten against her next time

I was wondering about that at the time. It reminded me of Dahlia's King George when she won by six lengths looking awesome. I think she just took advantage of an overfast pace by being ridden more conservatively out the back.
