Royal Ascot - Saturday

Happened to be in a Hills shop when they were offering 11/2 Society Rock so took a bit of that but wouldn't be surprised to see a big run from Rosdhu Queen, Hawkeyethenoo makes up my 3 against the field.

Typical headmaster business from Jim Mcgrath, that after two minutes of Thomas Chippendale dying he starts banging on about the anti-racing lobby. If ever there was a moment not to talk about the politics of racing then that was it. Balding also sounded a bit crass in the immediate aftermath, maybe she hadn't realised the severity of it.

Morache Music & Palace Moon weren't too far behind Hawkeyethenoo in last years Wokingham, he ran well in the Jubilee, both big prices.

4.25 Louis The Pious grabs me here. Considering the yard has a line to the Duke via Smoothtalkingrascal and Tudhope has opted for this one, the 40/1 was far too big. He's also had a wind op since last season. I was on Nocturn at 25/1 before Newmarket but don't fancy it too much now. Glass Office has a July Cup entry so might be well handicapped off 103. Royal Rock is well handicapped on his best form. Duke Of Firenze is a solid favourite. Shropshire looks sure to run a big race. Arnold Lane should never be 40/1. If rain gets into the ground Mass Rally could win. Terrific race. Mental stuff. I love it!!
I must admit, I thought Shropshire was going to do it until I saw York Glory making his move. Jeez do I hate Spencer

Good run for a 3yo from Glass Office too.

5.00 Ustura, Stencive and Caravan Rolls On (but may be using this as a prep for the Ebor) look the best at the weights. Rye House might need rain but if not should shake them up. Marginal preference for Ustura.
I reckon the draw beat Stencive. Frankie had no choice but to drop in to avoid being caught out wide and ended up having a lot to do. I had Opinion upsides Stencive and CRO in my figures but had ruled him out because Moore had chosen Rye House. The race went very much to my figures and should provide future winners. I still think CRO is an Ebor horse.

If Shahwardi and/or No Heretic gets placed in the last, Spencer will have cost me the placepot(s) on Mount Athos

5.35 Shahwardi, No Heretic and Chiberta King look the ones to focus on.

Decided to play up a little in the last so backed the trifecta. Once again, Spencer got it all wrong, coming from too far back. So not only did he cost me that, he also cost me multiple placepots with Mount Athos :(

Couldn't agree more on that point, Emma Spencer's interview with murtagh was unnesecery aswel the man was clearly devastated.
