Just realised that Sky have finally got permission to show RTE 1+2 . Hooray :D On ch 267 + 268 . Just in time for Punchestown as well :P

Careful, apparantly "Some RTE sporting fixtures will only be shown in the Republic, depending on broadcasting rights." Probably won't affect Punchestown, but watch out for it.

I saw that yesterday . Was there a rugby match on? Sorry I'm totally off message re: other sport :D They just had a logo on the screen saying programme not available . I just thought it would be nice to get the Irish commentary and have a choice between them and ATR . RTE usually have Ted Walsh and I like listening to his comments .

Solly, where are you based? Might this new availability of RTE 1+2 just be for Northern Ireland only? I couldn't find either station on my telly last night in - ahem - Yorkshire.

Sky launch confirmed for RTÉ, TG4 in NI
Thursday, April 14 2005, 01:58 BST -- by Darren Shelley

Sky digital customers in Northern Ireland will be able to receive RTÉ One, RTÉ Two and TG4 as part of their channel lineup from Monday (April 18th) it has been confirmed.

All three channels will be available to customers by 11am that morning and will occupy the following EPG positions:

267 - RTÉ One
268 - RTÉ Two
269 - TG4

In a statement released yesterday, Noel Curran, Managing Director, RTÉ Television, said: "We have always believed that RTÉ services should be available to as wide an audience as possible on all platforms and today is another step towards achieving that goal. We are now, along with TG4, the first broadcasters to be available on Sky digital on an all-island basis."

Bugger. Looks like I'm right.

Nothing in London either :(

Well worth it for Ted Walshe's quote after the Moscow race . While they were waiting for the result the commentator mistakenly told Ted someone had £35, 000 on in favour of Moscow in the photo. His exact quote was "He needs his fuxxing head examined " Live racing priceless

But did Ted have any of the 11/8 that you could have had on Rathgar Beau in the photo? I was running around trying to get a price for a dead-heat, but not one bookmaker wanted to quote me. They must all be as cynical as I am...

The bookmakers obviously knew about the lack of a reflective strip on the finishing post...
