I have been fortunate enough to miss the previous 56 . No doubt this has something to do with the serialisation of his dreary book in the RP.

He doesn't want to give the game away, which is fair enough. Judging by the fact he's a mathematics genius, I suspect he uses a combination of speed figures (and from reading snippets of what he's said), sectional timings and inside information (for example, in that Exponential race, I heard he didn't just own the winner.... ).
