Hiya Guys,

Daughter (now junior doctor) going to live in a caravan in Harrogate. She needs to use her laptop what is the best/cost effective way of doing this. No movies just surfing the net.

She has an 'orange' network mobile.

TIA - MR2

I don't know, i'd have thought talking to orange could be a good start though? They should be able to advise you if it's possible

She would need to have a phone which supports tethering - basically allowing her phone to share it's mobile internet. The phone would then show up as a wireless network on the laptop.

This is generally not a good idea for long term use:

- Most contracts have very small data allowances, if you exceed these you could get charged a fortune.
- Some providers don't like you using the data allowance for tethering - and will try to charge you extra for data used like this.

Instead, get a wireless dongle, something like this . You can get these from most mobile providers on a contract or pay as you go basis. Obviously check out the signal strength in the area for the provider of choice - you would need 3G speeds to be much use when using a laptop.
