I'd say 7s with the rule 4 applied would be the 'best odds'

Not sure I agree with that Simmo. The SP of 7/1 was the final industry agreed odds, after NR adjustments so if offered BOG I would expect to be paid out at 7/1 even if I’d backed a horse at 5/1 before the NRs.

Whether we should be getting BOG is another question but if they’re going to offer it then they should at least do it properly.

Agree with this. 7/1 should be the price returned as that was the SP. No R4 deduction

Turns out it's a brain-fart on my part. It was BV who removed the BOG concession from me three years ago so I'll just have to grin and bear it and in future deny them any further business.

From an email I got this morning:

We have looked further into why Best Odds were not applied to your bet and we can confirm that, due to a business decision made by the relevant department, Best Odds Guaranteed was removed from your account and an email was sent to you informing this on 3rd April 2016.

You’re lucky to have been told, although obviously understandable an email sent 3 years ago had slipped your mind. Paddy Power withdrew access to their Money Back Specials from me about 6 months ago without informing me. Others have also placed various limitations on me with no warning
