Looking at the 5.40 Curragh, there's one that really takes the eye and it's Immelmann.

I love it when a horse is upped markedly in distance and here's one such trained by Mullins. Notable that it's ridden by Carrol who seems to be riding out of his skin at the moment. The stats show he's 1-1 for Mullins, too. The horse has only had four runs in his life. The fact that they're whacking him up to 2m looks significant to me.

Well, that was some ride, if you look. It stuck out like a sore thumb, imo.

Naturally, it missed being placed by one position - it was that kind of day for on Saturday (ref Nathanael Greene).

More to the point, however, is the ride by Mr Carrol. The horse was never going to win from his position coming into the straight and this looked to be either a prep or a mistake. I tend to favour (if that's the right word) the former and will look forward to his next race. That could Galway, so I read and if so, he'll be a short price for that.

Looking further ahead, he's need a higher rating to get into the Ces.
