Some of you may have heard this week about a new website that has been launched where you run your weekly shop through their virtual tills and they will transfer the whole shop to the cheapest supermarkets online checkout. Simple. B)

Coming up to Christmas, this may be a great way to save a few £'s!

Website url is:

MY SUPERMARKET

Discuss.... : :)

Doubt it wil work here in deepest Somerset.. but interesting to know about!

I own up to being a card-carrying Sainsbugs shopper - even though a new Tesco's has been built on 'my' side of Taunton. Having tried it I was very disappointed with the lack of choice - they may be the UK's biggest supermarket chain but they couldn't persuade me!

Bread is another product where I wouldn't buy the cheaper value brands.
My understanding (perhaps mistaken) is that there are only two or three main bakeries up and down the country supplying the major supermarkets and there isn't much difference between any of the supermarket brands.

If you buy bread by its label good luck to you but I only do so when it's the only bread available. If one shop can sell me a loaf for 35p and make a profit then the shop that sells a loaf for £1.35 is ripping me off.

AHHHHHHH, Waitrose, the supermarket of choice for all Newmarketeans!!

Great quality but a bit pricey according to my darling wife.
Quality is the thing! By he way, what's a Newmarketean?

I can strongly recommend lidl's fruit especially to anyone who has irritable bowel syndrome and whose movements need to be regular :)

I do a lot of shopping in LIDL when Im home - its not too bad really - the flavoured rices are nice, and the yogurts and icecreams are ok - the coke tastes like wee though.

If Brian shops in Waitrose mayby he'd like to swop some Waitrose vouchers for some Asda ones for me :D I'll explain : We get paid for overtime in vouchers as a tax dodge but the problem is you can only get vouchers for 1 supermarket which is Waitrose . As there is no Waitrose in Northern Ireland I can't use the vouchers for basics like diesel . You can get Marksys and Boots and the like but it doesn't help you buy your shopping . Perhaps we could get an exchange programme going :D

Jeez, they really know how to screw their staff, don't they?

Is that legal?

By the way, those vouchers are a benefit in kind and are herefore taxable at whatever rate of tax you are on. You must hope against hope that Desperate Dan doesn't read this.

I'll do you a deal Brian . If I send you £300 Waitrose vouchers would you send me the same is ASda / Tesco / Sainsurys vouchers or a cheque  We have no way of spending these bloody things and you do overtime when you're broke so to be told that you can only cash them in for luxury stores is an insult . If I can find anyone who uses Boots / Debenhams / Marks / Wasitrose vouchers I can at least swop them . I just want supermarket vouchers that I can use for Diesel . I'm down to Dublin every weekend so diesel is a big thing

Dessie , they do know how to screw their staff . I did 60 hrs overtime during the bank of england rate change . Basically 8am - 8pm . There was a team prize for most overtime and we won it because of my hours . Someone told me afterwards that I personally had put in more hrs than at least one team I have all those vouchers and I can't use them in a single supermarket . There is a list of shops that will redeem them but nowhere practical . I'm sorry but I can't afford to do my weekly shop at Marks and Spencers . Waitrose are dear too . If Brian would bee seen buying Asda or Tesco vouchers I'd be very gratefull to swop them for Waitrose ones .
Please Brian help out . If you do your shopping there then you could use them right away . I'll swop you for any other supermarket vouchers :D

I'm afraid that I don't do shopping anywhere and I've never possessed a supermarket voucher in my life. (Not that I have anything against them or those who trade in them.) :D

 I have a cunning plan however . I'm going to buy an expensive electrical appliance from Comet with the vouchers and then take it back . They'll hopefully give a cash refund :D
