In the Scottish National I cant really see beyond KITTYS LIGHT
3lb lower than when 2nd last year.stays well.1st
I've also done Empire steel and Threeunderthrufive4th as I always back them.
Before Cheltenham Nicholls said Threeunderthrufive was too high in the weights off 150.got dropped 3lb and now Nicholls says it's still 8lb too high.i think he will want a drop in weights and then get him ready for the Hennessey.
I've also done MIGHTY THUNDER 25/1 won it 2 yrs ago and seems to have regressed since but there was improvement the last twice and os so well hcapped now.

I think FLEET STREET 11/1 must have a decent chance in the Scottish champion hurdle.

LATTAM newbury spring cup is a short price but does look good.
Got into all sorts of trouble in the Irish Lincoln but still won.2nd

My main one tomorrow is WARNING SIGN in the last at Newbury.
Eyecatcher last year and again in the Lincoln consolation race at Donny.has been well backed already.myself and Euro snaffled some 12/1 and is now about 6s. NR

CITY CHIEF 150A should win again.

Good luck.

A race I always look forward to, as you know mate.

On the face of it, Kitty's Light, looks well in on last year's run. The price, though, is no sort of temptation for me. Particularly as this is not really a race to get behind in ad hope for no traffic problems. For that reason, I'm looking elsewhere.

The race was won by a mare last year and, as it happens, the three I've come down on the side of are mares, too.

I was so tempted to go for Malina Girl, over from Ireland. They upped her in distance lto, as well the might, and she scooted home over 3m 4f. It was always going to be that they'd get her into staying handicaps because her breeding is absolutely rammed with stamina. I reckon the 4m will present no issues. However, that would be some performance to win this as a 6yo, wouldn't it? The last 6yo to win this was Earth Summit off 10st. For a horse that went on to win the Grand National, you might say the horse was well-in hat day! That was back in 1994 and for that reason, I've swerved MG as my main bet and will just do a little saver bet on her.

My second small - bet saver is going to be Waitnsee. A year ago, this was 3rd over 3m 7f at Punchestown off 133 and here we are looking at a rating of 128. In terms of the profile of this race goes, I've always thought it pays to be nearer the front going around and Waitnsee's prominent running style would be well served. For me, the current 66/1 is too big and I'll be looking at the Ew extra market. 24/1 for 10 places will probably be the way to go.

Lastly, my main punt here will be on a third mare, Flower Of Scotland. I was much taken with her win over 4m at Kelso earlier on. I thought she was ridden with such confidence, as if connections knew that she is one the few in the game that will stay such an extreme distance. I have been worrying that she's out of the handicap but records tell me that this doesn't necessarily bar her from winning , since there have been a good few such cases in the past. Although she has been held up in the past to win, she's also been ridden prominently and I would hope for the latter tactics today. the current 14/1 Skybet with 7 places looks attractive.

How sweet it would be for trainer Sandy Thompson, only a week after losing Hill Sixteen in the Grand National, if Flower Of Scotland were to oblige, eh?
