I've never done this without an invite to before, how does one go about it? Is it as simple as ringing your bank and making an appointment to meet with someone?

Any help hugely appreciated....

How often do you do it, Clive? If you do it regularly (and I mean 20+ trades pcm), surely you are better doing it through Hargreaves or Charles Stanley?

The most cost effective way will depend on how you hold the shares (do you have a certificate or are they held electronically)? Will you trade regularly or is it a one off? I work for a broker (mentioned above as it happens) - pm me if I can help Trudi.
