Since When....?

Bristol Airport is currently diverting flights to and from Cardiff. Last week I ran a friend from Bristol to Cardiff for his flight and it took 1 hour fourteen minutes. I have a fast car but I didn't break any speed limits. Nor did I dawdle.

"National Express have coaches which take either an hour and ten minutes or an hour and 40 minutes. "

Those times are from Bristol City Centre to Cardiff City Centre. One includes a stop at Newport and the other doesn't. Neither airport is within 15 mins of the city centre. I hope this clears this matter although somehow I doubt it.

I find it delightfully old-fashioned that DIVER says he has a 'fast car'! The average family saloon can hold 100mph without straining a gasket these days - wee Smart cars have belted past me at 95+ so what is it, D, a Dodge Viper? Or a classic Jensen Interceptor? I think we should be told. :D

I make no apology for being old fashioned. I drive a three month old Turbo Vectra. It's fast compaared to some of the buckets I've owned but I admit that all kinds of cars go past me on the Motorway.
To get to Cardiff airport in 45 mins from Bristl Airport it's a helicopter you need, not a car.

Fair enough - I'll bow to your superior knowledge, Diver. But I still hold that 2 hours is a big exaggeration - especially if a National Express coach can do it in 1hr 10 mins! Also the fact that I can do Cardiff from around 15m the Reading side of Newbury in just over an hour makes me think Bristol to Cardiff airport ain't gonna be anywhere near 2 hours. And yes, I've been to both Bristol and Cardiff airports so I am aware where they are.

Oh, I bet it wouldn't take me much more than 45 mins to do the journey either, not if NE can do it in an hour and 10! (and the AA make it an hour and 5....)
