Spot The Mistake

I saw this bus in town recently, I wonder if the spelling mistake was made on purpose?

That is the Irish spelling of the word, which seems wrong in this particular context.

Possibly either deliberate to avoid copyright issues, to get it noticed or just plain wrong.

I understood that 'whiskey' could only apply to Irish whiskies, and 'whisky' to Scottish brands?

Hopefully the EU will drag Ireland into line with the rest of Europe on this issue and we will be forced to drop the offending 'e'. We've been getting away with it for too long. This and red lemonade have been a scurge.

Americans spell it the Irish way as well, so presumably that will prevail as they like to impose their will on the rest of the World!
