very surprised no one has posted on this programme yet

a fascinating insight to police ineptness corruption and rascism

perhaps someone should have planted a few copies of the metro on the suspects

perhaps then our beloved boys in blue may have taken the case a little more seriously

As at least Private Eye, the Guardian and the Observer appeared to know at the time of the first trial that Det Sgt Davidson was in the pay of Clifford Norris, it seems odd that the Met senior officers didn't.

You can bet your bottom dollar they did, and simply decided that it would be too tiresome (yawn) to look further. It'd cut badly into their golf club time and attending all those Rotarian and Masonic dinners, Brian, lecturing on how the modern-day Metro looks sternly at issues of racism and corruption...

I thought it was an excellent programme and I really hope that the Metropolitan Police now realise there is only so much carpet they can sweep any curruption claims against their officers under.

John Davidson, now languishing in Majorca, running a nice little bar (it didn't look that nice to me be honest) on a full police pension, presumably also living off his ill gotton gains from Clifford Norris. Unbelievable.

In the programme, so many times they said they were looking for no one else in connection with the murder, and yet these thugs are walking the streets with their chests puffed out like peacocks as if no one can bring them down even though they know, that everyone knows that they are as guilty as hell of Stephen's murder. I hope it's only now a matter of time before they are brought to justice.

An excellent, well written programme that deserves to bring the right results to Stephen Lawrence's parents, his family and friends. This is one of the biggest and most blatant miscarriages of justices I have ever seen.

I hope they're brought to justice, all right - but not in the courts. I'm disappointed, and that's saying the very least, in the supposed tough guy Yardies. How they've not permanently sorted out this filth in over a decade is as big a mystery as is how the Met hadn't a clue.

Too much Hollywood - the Yardies are only interested in maintaining and controlling their own drug-dealing territory. They have as many instincts for justice as do the Acourt brothers and their little gang.

They appear to be as guilty as hell, and it makes you wonder how they are still walking the streets.
The unfortunate thing is that there are thousands of thugs like those, roaming Britain's streets right now. Thousands of people who wouldn't think twice about stabbing, you, or your friend, or your son, or whoever, if you were to be unfortunate enough to meet them in the wrong circumstances.

Society seems to have made the decision that kids can do as they bloody well like now, with no fear of punishment. Then we wonder why we have a large percentage of young adults with absolutely no respect for anyone.

It beggars believe in honesty, but it's not the first gross miscarriage of justice that required a pro-longed and sustained campaign to right and I think history has taught us that, that is what needs to be done. I fear howver, that with laws on double jeopardy as they are it might not be easy to prosecute. Would a bent copper constitute 'significant new evidence'. In my book it would, but I'm not sure it does legally? and even then the case against Davidson needs to be proven beyond all reasonable doubt first

Fantastic piece of investigative journalism. Award winning stuff surely. Absolutely shocking to see their findings.

Sadly, you're right, Brian. The days seem to be gone when any self-respecting ganglord would've sorted those two scrotes out with surgical precision.

I saw the programme and the one thing to me was, how the Lawrence family must feel at the injustice and seeing the criminals behaviour when taped and after being in court.

How do you live with that ?

It must be horrendous for them Lee to know what this scum have done and are that they are still free to walk the streets. I suppose it could only have been marginally worse for the Lawrence family IF the killers had never been found. At least, they know who did it. I think the Lawrence family have been extremely dignified throughout the whole sorry event and I hope, one day, their patience to see their son's killers finally put behind bars will be paid off.

I missed the program but believe it was very eye opening. How on earth John Davidson is allowed to carry on drawing a full pension is beyond me.
