Running total for March was +294.38 going into yesterday.

It had to happen - a day with no positive returns dropped 9, so now it's on +285.38.

Blueking D'Ouroux hurt. A rare heavyish single figures bet, but I couldn't see him beaten at 8.8. Reluctant to line up, Teddy? Why didn't you just run the wrong way a bit instead?!

On the positive side, the two were well clear. So, I'll stand by the bet. At the prices, it was entirely valid.

The Four Sixes? Another rubbish run on a RH track. I wouldn't say there's definite proof, he's only had three or four goes. And reportedly pulled a shoe here. But there should be good odds available on wherever the next run is. Hopefully, it will be left-handed so the theory can get a test.

Today's runners:

Capla Resdev 1.47 MR On paper shouldn't trouble the first few in the betting without significant dollops of improvement. Can he? In the 200s to find out will be OK.

Poet's Muse 2.10 Chepstow Can see potential holes in the first two in the betting. And the Chanin stable had their first hurdles winner recently. Although we should note that one had run 2nd in a big field Aintree C3 bumper, so was clearly likely to be above average. Poet's Muse may have enough to get in the first three.

Fuji Flight 3.20 Chepstow Venetia persists with this 11 year old. Looks on the downgrade on all evidence, but this isn't a wildly competitive race on paper and Fuji did try and go from the front at Exeter two runs back. Blinkers first time. At 33-1+, worth a chance.

Casts Tasha 3.55 Chepstow Will need to recapture some form. That doesn't look impossible.

Crypto Force 4.50 Curragh Crypto has run some dire races in the last couple of years. But it's a long time since trying a mile, and gets a rare go on heavy ground (assuming it is actually heavy). Surely last chance at any form of valuable race, maybe any race, but the odds look good enough for the risk.

Raybiya 5.30 Curragh Interesting. I can make a good case for this one off a break. And if he doesn't do anything today, I suspect he will at some point. Uncertain what odds will be available.
