War Lord - Cheltenham 1.55 16/1 Ew
He was entered at Cheltenham on 10th December but the meeting was called off. In my blog I wrote that I was a little concerned about the ground being good and if it had been riding G/sft, he'd be 'an
outstanding bet'. Well, here we are and with all the recent rain, the ground's come right. After Saturday's disappointments, one always feels nervous about putting anything up but I'm in for my sole bet of the day Ew.
Never jumped here and was never going to win.
A disappointment, yes, but I suppose there's something to be learnt. It may be that Cheltenham is not his cup of tea. Aintree seems to suit and it'll be interesting where they choose to go in the spring. Certainly a handicap over 2m 4f will be the call and when he's right, he be something to bet on.
