some nice racing today, I think: more to get my teeth into.
I have a couple that I fancy:
Rouge De L'Quest - 4.35 Fos Llas - 3/1 Win
I noted this one on his chase debut in November. A very lightly raced gelding, having his first run over fences against some seasoned handicappers. One thing is certain: he's a natural jumper who measured the fences well. Only one mistake and it was good to see him learn from that, putting in a blemish – free round afterwards.
I’ve a feeling that fitness and the 3m trip found him out that day. The main thing is that this was full of promise and the horse jumps just beautifully. Yes, He hasn't won in two subsequent efforts this term but I'm hioping that the first-time blinkers and tongue tie may help things here.
Aucinrisque - Plumpton 4.15 11/2 Ew
Let's not forget that this fellow won the Betfair/Scweppes last season off a 1Lb less than today's rating. It's also noteworthy that he ran in this race last year , where he was third to Teddy Blue, giving that one 19 Lbs. He re-opposes here 13Lbs better off. I'm thinking that these are terms that cannot be ignored. This is a decent price, isn't it, given that?
