I'm on:
Squealer 1.45 York 3/1 Win
The last race he ran at York was a really fast affair. Last with1f to go, he was making up ground at the post and will appreciate the extra 1/2f here.
Favourite Silencer comes on the back of handicaps and I think Squealer may have the more class to prevail. the current 3/1 appeals
I would also add:
Atacama Desert - 4.05 York - 7/2 Win
I've spent a long time poring over thsi race and it was beginning to look wide open, with nothing really standing out.
However, upon looking at the form and breeding of this gelding, I'd be thinking he must have a very good chance.
Lto, he won comfortably over 1m 3.5f (Cl 4 OR 69). Now, I love it when a horse is stepped up markedly in distance, as he is here. At least, it makes me look twice. I look at the breeding to see if there are clues as to possible staying ability. I see that he is a full brother to the lightly-raced O'Brien colt, Monumental Valley, who was fourth in a Gp 2, btn 2l or so by Delphi. MV had the look of a future stayer but the career was curtailed. Anyway, the signs look good to me in what is a race vulnerable to an unexposed horse. This looks to fit the bill.
Trainer Frost is 2-8 with older horses on the course showing a £20 profit.
