Today, I got a notice that my betfair account was suspended owing to safer gambling concerns

I haven't bet on it in months for one and secondly, I don't fit any classification of problem gambler (especially in a flat season)

Anyone else encountered this

Have you checked the safer gambling link?

Is it possible you have set a self exclusion and taken yourself out of the game?

I sometimes bet thousands and never been excluded and they only ever asked me for info once which I gave a cheeky Tony Stark type reply to.
 
I am in the throws of getting a bot again for betting on the machine. I advice everyone to get one.

Lately price changes are unreal.....I saw 1.74 about Historic City and typed in an 80 pound bet........went straight to confirm it was unmatched and was suddenly 1.62. This is happening way too much on the exchange just now.
 
Well, they have a relatively moderate amount of money held in it now too .

The email said no appeals and also no PP betting either but they asked me to provide proof of identity and address.

The account is active since 2004 I would guess
 
Explain to them that you have an in built self exclusion plan called "The Flat Season " and see what Gordon Moody makes of that.

Just don't tell Gordon ffs.
 
Betfair suspended my account 6 months ago, only after I complained about the 100 deposit limit they had set 6 months earlier, was told there is nothing I can do about this for 12 months, get banned from posting on the Betfair forum too, the month before they drastically cut my deposit limit to 100 was 7k up for that month.

I just confirmed the Judmonte with sportsbook/PP and 1499 pound bet is their max.

It took 30 minutes to get 1.75 matched the others day on the exchange'

So I would not be concerned with the PP side of things,

Just a thought but have you changed where you live at anytime.? They have you IP address and it should coincide with the info in your account. I have been asked several times to update telephone number and email address after a spell off and always do so. If you wee asked and never bothered or missed the message that could be what has caused their action.....I don't know I am guessing

First thing you do Granger is contact them and ask why they have excluded you -possibility that someone has hacked your account.
 
When you do get back in a good idea is to set a monthly loss limit.....so I was told........obviously if your limit is 300 pounds at it at 400 just in case.

That was they will assume you are taking care to bet within your means and don't need them to stick their nose in

I must admit that I set up Zero limits to all my all virtuals, casino etc reasoning that if I ever did get hacked they couldn't blow it all on those.
 
hope you get this solved Granger....not late in the day now but friend told me he went to Twitter X and searched ,@betfair.cs and got a reply within the hour.
 
Its been a while lads hope youre all well. Id had a good soak tonight and was reminiscing about old times and horse racing and such and popped in to find youve had a hell of a revamp. Glad to see the place still going strong.

This threads caught my eye ive had the same thing. I went to update my e-mail and it flash up that id self excluded ? Of course tried to explain that to customer service but not interested. I was completely gutted as although i havent punted much over the last few years id sort of planned to return to it at some stage but what the hell do you do without a trusty betfair account. Absolutely Daffied !

Any way missed you guys hope youre all making a few sheckels here and there.

Almost a month later

Following a recent review of your account, we have established that this was a false match resulting in an incorrect self-exclusion being applied.

We have now taken the action to remove this link and the incorrect self-exclusion, and you are now able to log in to your account as normal. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused you and appreciate your patience on the issue
