dont watch loads of TV but if i want to see a good film, cinema beats everything else hands down. Thats where i try to catch it

But bought my flat screen Sony wega 8 years ago (or so). Very happy.

with all this stuff i think its worth paying for quality. Made great decision paying for a Miele washing machine a few years back. its perfect. Same with a Sebo vacuum cleaner. German all the way for white goods

learnt hard way with laptops. Finally bought an apple mac pro and now bang my head on the wall daily wondering why i didnt before.

And buy everything from john lewis (except Richer sounds for HIfi) nothing ...absolutely nothing ...not even a fucking box of paper....from Curries

last time i went to flicks..saw the kings speech..i thought how smeared the picture was after years of watching a pin sharp picture..i've seen the kings speech at home now and far preferred the picture ..the cinema is all about scale..but i would rather watch at home

Euro, just so that you know we're not all desperate dicks for the latest gizmo, my tv was bought for my Mother when her last incredibly old one fell on its face and went purple. It probably dates from 2004, and my pc around 2005. However, there is built-in obsolescence which I really object to. I previously had a laptop which died within days of its 5th birthday. I was told that was 'pretty good going' - and all it ever did was a bit of Internet and emailing, so hardly worn out by Photobucketing. I wear a watch given to me in 1992 and now drive a 9 y.o. car after the 13 y.o. one died tragically on its way to Lingfield last year.

i'll just add..even though i like me tellies and hifi..i'm probably one of the few people you will come across that hasn't got..and has never had ..a mobile phone..i hate the fookin things ;)

mate of mine recalls going to the pictures was for straw Dogs Now thats going back a bit.

went with a bird and bloke along the seats was enjoying the rape scene rather obviously. A sherman tank in fact. Then he stood up and said "that'll do for me" and left

I suppose with that you can see the attraction of watching at home....

I do have one, which came in very handy recently when Virgin cut my phone off a week early prior to my move, but it's so old... I imagine a mugger would take pity on me if he grabbed it, and give me a newer one. It does nothing but take and make calls. No films, no games, no interactive crapola, no emails, no photos. Just calls - weird, or what?

irgin cut my phone off a week early prior to my move,

Piece of technology i would like to have is a cruise missile which i can aim at their Indian call centre when i next get some pillock who is telling me why my email address has been deleted for no reason

Knowing your slight predisposition to combustibility, I'm surprised you haven't got an entire firing range of them!

Only on here. Very even tempered in real life as it happens...

But wouldnt it be nice. Some berk reading back some crap to you without understanding a word your saying (after hanging on for four hours) and then you ask them if they understand orders to evacuate the building

You've gone soft in your old age, dearie, if you're going to give them a sporting chance...

I phoned up the UK-based and UK-manned 'Customer Relations' people re sending catalogues to an address I never actually got to last year. Oh, you might continue to get one or two sent there, Miss, but I can assure you we have your current address correct. Which probably explains why another re-directed catalogue arrived today and the goods I'd ordered went to my previous address. You either turn into the Mad Axe Murderer or shoot yourself, because to continue as things are is the road to madness and men in white coats.
