Is an absolute bag of shite, My missus is gone to the theatre tonight with her mate, and I took the opportunity to stay in and continue to nurse my hangover in front of the box.

Given the quality of programming on tonight, it is no wonder that there is a binge-drinking culture in the UK. Thankfully, I am reading a decent book at the minute.

We've got Sky. Hundreds of channels yet we still struggle to find something half decent to watch.

Same here Griffin - still, vegging out watching Friends re-runs for now (whilst on here). It will be all be turned off and back to reading in a minute, I end up switching the TV most nights and reading anyway.

Sweet FA on...wish I had coverage of the Kentucky Derby!!!

Anyways humming and hawwing as to starting reading Harry Potter from scratch again or Lord Of The Rings for the 567th time.

Otherwise I will be passing the time on MSN, the forum/gabble thingy!

Great, cheers Rory! I used to love Jesse's Diets - the all time clasic was "and this week, I am mostly following through.."

No probs - RUK and the smartly-presented run-up to the Kentucky Derby, with a couple of good races elsewhere beforehand, too. Really heart-warming 'human interest' stories behind BARBARO and BROTHER DEREK. And then this forum, full of charming and erudite people... nice.

You mean overly sentimental American smaltz set to really tasteless music. The worrying thing is Channel4 maybe want to go down that road as well with their "really interesting" piece just before the Guineas.

Dr Who is always good....
Then I get Dr Who confidential on BBC3 ( when Im at work!)

Ultimate Force lookede like it might have been pretty good too - but I gave up at 10.30 and went to bed.,....

Thought that was a brilliant episode of Dr Who with Madame de Pompadour - what a clever idea !

Cybermen next week !!!

No, Euro, I don't - I mean really heart-warming stories behind two horses, and I ignored the out-of-tune music, as I try to do through most things nowadays. We're as guilty as anyone at oversentimentalising stuff, it's not the sole purview of the Yanks. For goodness sake, the slop that's brought out over dead racehorses would outDisney Disney most of the time.

No, I mean what I say in this case. Perhaps you wouldn't help three children escape from a burning plane, perhaps even if you did, you wouldn't invite them to see your horse run in the Kentucky Derby, perhaps you wouldn't win the KD and therefore you wouldn't have a rather good back story to your horse's win. Perhaps you won't ever be paralysed and still have to go on training because you have to keep your family afloat - perhaps you'll just carry on living exactly the same way you do now, without having saved any lives, without wondering whether you could carry on, without winning anything special, but still managing to sound petty and peevish when such people do.

Cure for not having to watch crap TV...

Get an aged, deaf dog (with Dogzheimers) that wakes you up at 5.30. Get up, swear at said dog(s), turf 'em out, feed them, then the horses/cattle in yard. Come back in, make your coffee, spend half hour in office while everything you've just fed snoozes and digests, shower, dress and go outside and do yard/walk dogs then be in for start of 'normal' office day between 9 - 10am til 4ish, then do yard, feed dogs etc...

I guarantee you won't even notice what's on TV, as by 9pm all you'll be seeing is the inside of your eyelids. (Important note - only watch pre-recorded items in order that, should it actually be a programme worth watching, you don't miss the denouement)

There - sorted!
