1. Al Zanati .... ( C ) Dubawi x Divine Image - Owned by Godolphin & Trained by Charlie Appleby

Already boasts a smart level of form having won two of his three starts as a juvenile. Took a Newmarket maiden on his debut over seven furlongs, narrowly getting the better of August George by a neck - but may well have won with more in hand than the winning margin suggested, and stepped up on that performance next time out when runner up over a mile in a Group 3 back at HQ around nine weeks later. Al Zanati ended his campaign when successful on the Polytrack at Chantilly - taking a Group 3 contest over a mile and a furlong. His level of form at the moment would leave him some way short of what would be required to be considered a classic contender, however there should be improvement to come - and at least an extra furlong should see some. Proven only on Good to Firm on turf to date, and acted well on the artificial Polytrack should hopefully see him in the winners enclosure again over the course of the season.

2. Avicenna .... ( C ) Starspangledbanner x Love Potion - Owned by Godolphin & Trained by Roger Varian

Unbeaten in two outings last year, winning a brace of seven furlong races at Doncaster in the latter weeks of the Summer. The second of those in Listed company at the St Leger meeting when getting the better of the useful Karl Burke trained performer Hankelow by the minimum of margins, despite looking far from the finished article. Avicenna should progress in his three year old season as he gains more experience and gave the impression that he will be suited to trips of around a mile to ten furlongs.

3. Enoch .... ( C ) Frankel x Darkova - Owned by George Strawbridge & Trained by John and Thady Gosden

Winner of his only start last season when taking a seven furlongs Maiden at Newmarket during the last week of September, beating the Richard Hannon trained Battle Apple by a length and a quarter. It was a pleasing debut for connections, as apparently they were not expecting him to win despite some pleasing work at home in the lead up. The form probably equates to a level in the high 80's / low 90's and Enoch looks just the type to improve as he gains experience. He's a nicely bred individual, and related to plenty of winners - the best of whom is his half brother, the three times Group One winner Almanzor. Enoch should be best served to trips of around 1m 2f

4. Golden Story .... ( C ) Lope De Vega x October Queen ) Owned by Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum & Trained by Karl Burke

Looked pretty green when getting the better of the William Haggas trained infraad in a five runner Maiden on soft ground over a mile at Doncaster in late October, but I very much doubt the winning margin justified the superiority that day. Golden Story strikes me as one to look forward to greatly in the coming months and a winter behind him should do his prospects no end of good. I wouldn't expect him to be ground dependent, in fact I could envisage a huge step forward when racing on a sounder surface. I wouldn't be sure where we'd see him start off at three, but come summer time it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he'd developed into a performer capable of contesting pattern class races. A nice prospect for the season ahead.

5. Hope Queen .... ( F ) Night Of Thunder x Motion - Owned by Jaber Abdullah & Trained by Karl Burke

Hope Queen looks another nice prospect for 2026 for her trainer. She is the winner of both her starts to date, earning an official rating of 100 when taking a Listed contest at Sandown over seven furlongs in July. Unraced after that, possibly with her three year old campaign in mind and I would expect to see her in one of the classic trials in the Spring. Time will tell if she proves good enough for the highest level, but she is clearly well thought of and holds an early entry for the Irish 1000 Guineas. Looks a smashing buy now at 135,000 Guineas.

6. Inishbeg .... ( C ) Ghaiyyath x Lajatico ) - Owned by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum & Trained by Kevin Ryan

Looking an expensive purchase at 500k at the 2024 book one yearling sales, but that said has shown ability in his two outings at two - particularly on his second start when runner up at Redcar to the useful looking Yazin trained by the Gosdens. Both his runs came over seven furlongs and he looks sure to be suited by at least a mile at three. A Northern Maiden / Novice contest, over such a trip should be pretty straightforward before hopefully moving on to something better, and may make up into a useful handicapper.

7. Lifeplan .... ( C ) Kodi Bear x A Taad Moody ) = Owned by Martin Tedham & Wasdell Properties Ltd & Trained by Declan Carroll

It's always nice when a small to medium sized stable gets a good one, and I imagine the Yorkshire based Declan Carroll will be looking forward greatly to the new season. Lifeplan won both his starts last term - both over six furlongs, firstly at Thirsk towards the end of July, when in hindsight must have been one of the best bets of the season when successful at odds of 5/1 ( having been bigger in the hours leading up to the race ) - because his second start saw him win the prestigious Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York's Ebor meeting. It will be interesting to see if his trainer aims him for a crack at the 2000 Guineas, a possible run in the Greenham Stakes over seven furlongs could possibly help in that decision, however he strikes me as more of a sprinting type. He's a good horse for sure and will hopefully progress further.

8. Miss Scott .... ( F ) Night Of Thunder x Queen Guenevere ) - Owned by The Thoroughbred Racing Corporation Ltd & Trained by John & Thady Gosden

Created a good impression when successful in a seven furlongs Leicester maiden on her only run of 2025, and is sure to have gone into many notebooks for this year. A step up to a mile is likely to bring out improvement and there's every chance she'll stay a little further. The form of that Leicester race is nothing special, but I would be disappointed if she doesn't prove much better than it in time. A possible trial in the Spring for the fillies first classic could be on the cards, and hopefully she will have progressed enough over the winter to take her chance.

9. My Ophelia ... ( F ) Wootton Bassett x My Titania ) - Owned by Tony Bloom & Ian McAleavy & Trained by William Haggas

Late season maidens and novice contests can often be of much interest, and will frequently throw up a number of future winners. My Ophelia took a one mile novice race at Newbury on soft ground in the final week of October, getting the better of her stablemate Earth Shot by a comfortable looking two lengths. It was a first run full of promise - as too was Earth Shot's effort and both fillies should go on to better this year. My Ophelia cost 1.7m Gns as a yearling so has a hefty price tag to live up to, she's a lovely bred filly and a half sister to four other winners - including the smart performers My Prospero and My Astra. She looks sure to be best served to middle distances.

10. Tempestra .... ( F ) Sea The Stars x My Timing ) Owned by Tony Bloom & Ian McAleavy & Trained by William Haggas

An unraced daughter of Sea The Stars, from a Street Cry mare that has already produced three winners to the same sire - a family that trainer William Haggas knows well. Bred to ideally suited to a mile and a half or further, she will hopefully be a filly to monitor with interest. She cost her owners 360,000 Gns as a yearling.
