Thatcher and the Scots

People are people, wherever they come from, some good, some bad. Never been a bother to me, but as an historian I do feel the need to uphold an argument sometimes - for either side.
 
He does have a point about the Welsh, though.

Odd, isn't it, how everyone will "bash" the Welsh. I once worked with a lovely indian doctor who was very upset when a patient asked "Dr ..... is he English?" as, having been born in the East End of London he considered himself very much to be so.

After he returned from holiday, I asked him how he had enjoyed his visit to Wales, to which he replied "Wales, didn't go there, full of Welsh." To which my reply was "Dr ... is he English?"

Prejudice goes all ways, doesn't it?
