The 2025 Ayr Gold Cup (Handicap)

Unless that's an elaborate play on words that escapes me at 7.30am, I think 25 can run and he's number 30.

I'm guessing, what with the two consolation races, there are no reserves, as that could get horrendously complicated and nightmarish (made a reserve for a race, don't get to run in the end, miss out on running in the consolation race below - awks!)

Who is "Jordan" and what sort of "Electrics" has he/she? got? - We need to be told, surely?

Anyway, declarations might be a bit later than usual this morning what with filling this race, the Silver Cup, the Bronze Cup, the draw, and fitting in breakfast, elevenses and brunch in and around all that.
Brian Jordon owns the horse and an electrical company in Motherwell.
Another bit of useless information.

At a TH "Presser" in the immediate aftermath of the decs, Your Favourite Uncle Smart Arse, when asked by Walsworth of The Daily Pleb, on a scale of One to Ten just how stupid YFUSA felt for fancying a non runner, YFUSA gave the less-than-numerical answer: "f%*& off."

Upon being asked for a replacement horse, YFUSA replied: "Purosangue."

Probed further as to why a horse unplaced off a 2lb lower mark only last Sunday was now being put up, YFUSA snapped: "Old Garrowby form" before flouncing out of the "Presser."

Anyone who thinks the draw will play a consistent part (it doesn't always - remember Bielsa) might want to consider combining those drawn in a particular place in the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups in fixed odds multiples.

If the first leg wins, the other legs may shorten and, if the second leg wins too, to use that exquisite, understated, phrase Dick Francis once deployed, after he retired as a jockey, when discussing running up money on multiple bets: "it gets quite exciting."

Don't know mate,it could be.but he looks like he's been trained for it again and Lauren Young claiming also helps.
Bit gutted though with Korker not running.
I'm going to add kodi lion to my ayrfolio.
Snook in at the bottom and Annaf and Billyjoh ain't running so Mick is relying on this one.

Drawheads will be monitoring the 2.15 coming up through telescopes bigger than anything that was ever in the late Patrick Moore's back garden.

Then the CoC after racing tonight will chuck half a reservoir on any side clearly favoured.

And yet again you somehow have ended up on the most heavily punted horse of the day. And tbh if id put Twilight Calls up as has a chance in the week then yours had his measure on the form line you drew him from. Think hes a fair shout Ian back on soft ground a bit short for me now though.

I've come down on the side of Jubilee walk as the most likely winner. Will be interesting to see how Binhareer goes in the silver cup as he finished behind Jubilee walk last time but was possibly unlucky to do so.

However if there does look to be a high draw favour on the day there must be some value in Bergerac at 40's ran a cracker in last years silver the front 3 were well clear. Araram returns a stone higher. Alfa kellenic returns after 12 month off both are much shorter prices and Bergerac returns off the roughly the same mark and race fit. Not one id be risking the house on though.

Stating the obvious but wide open race. Looking forward to it though.

Doesn't look much between the sides to me think everything has a fair enough crack at the Gold cup. Dunno wether that form franked Jubilee walks form as Binhareer was shite and Candy who finished behind both of them at Ascot has hacked up but I wouldn't of bet the reversal of form with Ians credit card.

Wouldn't of ever had Run boy run i like him a lot but didn't think he'd see out 6f on that sort of ground. Jubilee walk did me proud and as it turned out anything drawn high seemed to struggle even though the silver had been won off that side. But most importantly Jub was 1 place ahead of Uncle smart arses selection. In the imaginary league in my head im winning.

I thought it was just a coincidence until they said on tv that the owner named his horses after favourite songs. I’m going to look up his other horses now…
